I heard these extraterrestrial clowns were looking for the Meir Space Station and got lost at Weston Coyney lights. It happens.

Couldn't find any sign of intelligent life forms, gave up and went back...... If only the Oatcake's most intelligent man had been there at the time, we could now be living alongside aliens in perfect harmony π I predicted when I saw the thread title that the stigma would start within the first couple of posts, knew I wouldn't be disappointed π

I may be over sensitive, in the Navy there was a certain amount of stigmatisation from some towards Stoke on Trent whilst in Stoke there's always a certain amount of stigmatisation from some towards Bentilee. I suppose it gets tiresome π€

I genuinely thought Silverdale was quite posh as a kid, used to visit family that lived in Halfway Place quite regularly. Knutton I get. When I lived in East Anglia I was 'warned off' going into the local pub by a neighbour, I watched loads of football games in there, never saw so much as a row. My two locals as a lad were the Holllybush on Bentilee (I had Navy mates from Stoke that just wouldn't go in π) and the Sea Lion in Stoke, both had terrible reputations, both great pubs with very little trouble π Easy to get a rep, hard to shake it I suppose, bit like Stoke with Pulis π€

I guess any pub in Stoke, if you went mouthing off, you'd have a problem in those days.

Iβm initially from Bentilee ( well Berryhill ) and if theyβd landed in the 80s weβd of fucked them off pronto especially if theyβd ventured into Clowes on a Friday night
Nobody and I mean nobody fucked with us although looking at some of the women who frequented they could well of already landed

The high life! π I'm thinking my dad must have been hooligan way back! Larry Parks gave us our drinks for free! π³
