I think the definitions regarding cannabis could be somewhat confusing to someone that hasn't previously taken an interest in the subject.
Hemp isn't marijuana and marijuana isn't hemp but they're both cannabis.
Hemp is defined (in the UK anyway) as having a level of less than 0.3% THC, above that and it's classed as marijuana.
Cannabis in both forms can be used for building, clothing, paper, food (beneficial to animals and humans), medicine, fuel and tens of thousands of others things.
This video is 7 years old, there's been a few more cannabinoids identified in the plant since, up to around 150 now.
Marijuana has more medicinal value and is obviously used recreationally, using hemp 'recreatonally' wouldn't have the desired effect.
Henry Ford planned to build cars from, and run cars on, hemp - prohibition scuppered it.
