They never made mistakes, stopped the game every time they judged a technical foul. Stopped the game every time a throw in or free kick was from the wrong place, Never missed a grabbed shirt, push or pull at corners. Off sides are so well judged a big % of goals are disallowed. Penalties are retaken over and over because the keepers foot come off the line. VAR has already ruined the goal scoring experience for premier supporters , should we just embrace human referees with their inherent weaknesses/ mistakes or keep searching for perfect consistency?

Var for clear and obvious contentious incidents involving , penalties, offside, red cards Linesmen / women to be more proactive with off the ball incidents and relay this to referee

Since being professionalised referees have got worse. They are largely incompetent and completely unaccountable. Give me technology, robots, computers, I don’t care what….i just want to see as many correct and balanced decisions as possible where referees do not impact on the result. It’s a lottery in every game and I’m sick of it.

I didn't think the red was too bad today. I don't think we should blame refs every week.

Refs hate us, always have. We need to say something about the number of poor decisions that go against us and as for that James Bell or whatever his name is he should never ref a Stoke game ever again

I think today was a great example of how Stoke will not make it back to the Premier League until VAR is used in games across the EFL or we somehow shake the “Wet and windy Tuesday in Stoke” reputation of the club. I also think this is a factor in all the wondering about why players/coaches do well before and after they are here,, because here they play against 15 not 11. Win, lose, or draw; home and away, refs miss and make multiple calls that go against us and seem to be emboldened when our players and fans protest their poor decisions, see Thompson second yellow a couple weeks back. But when the opposing team does it we get carded, see Ennis today.

Refs definitely arrive with a mentality of having to stand up to a hostile crowd.

It was Bell who reffed the Southampton game and he was as dodgy as they come. He reffed the Blackburn game as well I think. He doesn't like us and is clearly biased against us. We shouldn't stand for the constant poor referring performances against us, we are too soft.

I think they probably try to do a neutral job though. We tend to blame them EVERY week, as perennial victims. Not an easy job. How do we get better ones? Is there a magic answer?

You didn't need a Robotic eye,to that blatent penalty,he used his biased one. Where was his hand supposed to go? He was running forwards. He’s not going to have his hands in his pockets and it was hit at him from about 2 yards away.
