Stopped going to our Sainsbury's as there's never any fucker on a till but a couple of folk on the self checkouts goose stepping up and down to hand out bags making sure they're charged for.
Fuck off you either trust me to scan my own shopping and be paid in free carrier bags for the privilege or you don't!

Losing jobs at their contact centre in Widnes, Cheshire, not the best area for work, that will hit the town hard. The one in Northwich town centre is built on where Witton Albion's ground used to be about 100 yards from Aldi, 300 yards from Asda, Lidl and Iceland, 500 yards from Farm Foods, Waitrose and Tesco 8 all so close together.

sainsburys was always the most expensive of the major supermarkets and the ones with the least amount of deals (not counting the likes of waitrose)

The big one in Leek is like the Mary Celeste, no staff or customers, shelves half empty. I like their red label loose tea, nearly always out of stock. Disused supermarkets infuriate me, most were built in the face of public hostility and at a cost to local character, small shops and heritage. After a short life we get lumbered with an environmental disaster. And yet Sainsbury's repeatedly announce profits. The long-empty Hanley Sainsbury's is a massive concrete and tarmac eyesore.

It's a shadow of it's former self. No deli or fish counter and it just looks like an Aldi/Lidl. However Aldi/Lidl are better, better laid out and better prices. I'm always amazed when I go abroad and see how much better there supermarkets are and we're lumbered with a dump in the middle of Hanley. It should be compulsory purchased and demolished. I think the one built in Newcastle was on the condition that the old more central land could not be developed with ANY shops, scandalous when you think about it. Innocent's remarks are bang on the money. Sainsbury's are not very super supermarkets.
