I like Ennis (first time I've seen him). Agreed. He works hard in and out of possession. I’d rather have him in it than any other non-scoring striker. He did more for the team between 70-80 mins than Campbell did coming on from off the bench fresh as a daisy.

I watched him carefully the whole first half, he had next to no impact as a player never mind Captain. Don’t let a good result cloud objectivity, he was terrible lol opinion “spoils this place” are you a child?

What a load of shit, he was absolutely useless 1st half marginally better second half I really don’t like Laurent, but I thought that he looked fine enough. The midfield had energy, won most of the battles and we were generally okay. It helped that we weren’t trying to play nonsense tactics.

He did a lot of marshaling off the ball and added some physicality too. Fingers crossed he keeps it up, he could be some player.

We were playing well until he came into the team and we seem to be better without him.

I have been very critical this season but praise where it is due. Lots of good individual performances but mainly a really good team performance, where the players really looked like they were up for it and happy to play for each other. Well done to the crowd too for lifting it to a higher level. The Jon Walters effect??

One swallow doth not a Summer make. However, well done to the players and the supporters. This is how it's going to have to be until the end of the season. No matter what happens, ONE TEAM, the fans and the players. We know there'll be plenty of moments where the inevitable moans and groans could set in but we've got to just support and believe in them. We want to see 100% effort and our side is to give them that back in return. As I say, it's for our own good as much as anything. We dont want to languish in the lower leagues. Who knows? We may create a bear pit again out of our situation. We had the Battersea dogs home with Tone but it didn't stop us from being the fly in the ointment for many a team. So, siege mentality, positivity and 100% effort from us all even when times are tough. Many of us were ready to give up for a while, apathy has been setting in for seasons. Maybe we can all get our passion back and it's taking a fight for survival to revive us? GOARRRRRRRRRRRRN STOKE! ONE TEAM, fans and players!

You're a real glass half-empty kinda guy, aren't you? Three massive points, an excellent performance, and a clean sheet. I don't care about QPR tonight, I love my own team! Hard not to be. We've allowed ourselves to be caught and put ourselves in the position where we need other results to go our way as well as our own. Keep playing like that and we'll be fine but it's frustrating to still be in the bottom 3 with Leeds away coming up. We don’t need other results, it is our hands

With the Ref not giving that penalty,it does make you wonder if they have an agenda against Stoke, give that with Baker still on,we could be out of the bottom 3.

Cundle being left out and no inverted fullbacks made a big difference! I’ve probably been as critical of Laurent as anyone but today having him in the side over Cundle was massive. That midfield 3 in particular is what we need to go with until the end of the season if they can stay fit. UTMP

Was a chance Baker dragged wide
Was the flag up?
Just that am sure a Bro player cleared it against his own man and it fell to Baker
Said on commentary the flag went up

I hope all these dreadful decisions won't take us down, but we certainly need VAR in this league!

That midfield 3 in particular is what we need to go with until the end of the season if they can stay fit. UTMP Some players have really stepped up today and shown what they’re capable of - Laurent in particular, but Baker was in amongst it too and when they’re playing well, the whole team does too. The only gutting aspect of today is that accursed QPR win at Leicester. That result shows that survival is going to the wire, and we simply must keep trying to play like today as much as possible. If we do, we’ll lose less than we win or draw. Well done team - that’s the kind of performance us fans want to see.

I do agree about the bite but I've already stated elsewhere today that Baker's delivery from dead balls is needed right now and hopefully if he can start to pop up on the edge of the box again he'll find his shooting boots too. We tend to force a lot of corners at home and vs Cov, he found Rose 3 times who should've walked away with at least one goal as well as his free kick at Rotherham and his effort last week leading to Bae's goal. At the current time whilst we struggle so badly to score, Baker is needed. I'd rather bring Pearson on to close the game out than Baker on to chase it. Depends on the gameplan really. The problem is that Baker is shite at sitting back but good if we're hoping to score from a set piece, while Pearson is useless (as the rest) at set pieces, but good at breaking up play when sitting back. Not sure if he'd be alright balancing an attacking side. So each option has drawbacks. Either way, Boro will crucify us if we try to outplay them, so anything other than a disciplined performance is kinda mad IMO. And that’s why in a game like today you play baker over Pearson. Get in front then see the game out.

Just 1 pt between 22nd and 17th (and a further one for 16th) and just two goals GD for most of those teams. It's going to be an every goal counts kind of the last 11 games... Like the peno we should have had today Nah, Nah, no! What good would a penalty have done us? We'd only miss it, and Boro would run up to our end and score a goal. With momentum in their court, they'd a score the winning goal in the 94th minute. So we should be grateful to Busby for not giving us that one.
