I’m also trying to get my lads addicted so it’ll glue us together as well, and I’ll end up in a marginally better nursing home than otherwise 😁 I misread this as 'I'm trying to get my lads addicted to glue'. To be honest, I think doing that will be better for them in the long run than following this abject turd of a football club. It'll certainly be cheaper and less damaging to their mental health. BRING OUT THE BOSTICK!

I think we will just go down without a wimper. The next few fixtures look hideous. If we don't win next week we could well be done before the end of March. If we fall 5/6 points off 21st there is no way we recover. We'll have lost too many and confidence will be completely gone. Wouldn't surprise me if we finished rock bottom now.

I'm going to watch my daughter's gymnastics show instead, should be quite a nice atmosphere there.

I pretty much dread going to matches these days. I've been a supporter for 49 years and can never remember such a sustained period of continual hopelessness both on and off the pitch. I'll keep going for now, and I'll probably get a season ticket next season, even if the once seemingly unthinkable happens. But it's starting to defy commonsense for me to carry on doing it with practically nothing positive in return for my outlay. I hate thinking this way. I love Stoke. It's the club that maintained the bond between me and my dad while he was with us. It's more than just a leisure/entertainment pasttime. But everyone has their limits. Mine are being sorely tested. I completely relate to this mate, though mine is just about still with us. It’s a real battle as going to the match is just about the only time he leaves the house these days and he’s had enough of the shite being served up. At the other end of the spectrum, I’m also trying to get my lads addicted so it’ll glue us together as well, and I’ll end up in a marginally better nursing home than otherwise 😁, but they are bored to fuck. We have been worse, and I’ve witnessed it, but it’s never, ever been so utterly joyless as this - it’s sucked the anger out of us all. I'm loving this post mate. It's too late for me to be arsed to comment on the reasons at this late hour, but it really resonates. I might start a thread tomorrow. 🤩

Let the fans in for free next few games that might raise the heart beat

Let the fans in for free next few games that might raise the heart beat I think you'd have to pay them

I think it calls for a concerted "WE ARE STOKE" for the kick-off. doubt it will happen though

Couple of things which I might get slaughtered for but
1) If you live in Stoke / nearby and get easily get to matches and enjoy the day (couple of beers beforehand etc) then you are lucky compared with those of us who live a long way away and truly miss being able to go regularly
2) Are people that stupid that they think that moaning / jeering will achieve anything positive now ? OK fair enough when you want the manager out but what's the point now ? We are in a very different situation now than we were when Neal was sacked and we simply have to back the team as much as possible or face relegation with a whimper

I may be in the minority here, but I actually think our home support has been remarkably good considering we've seen 7 goals for in 6 calendar months. It's not raucous by any means but I also don't think it's disproportionately negative whatsoever.
Apathetic is probably the better word for it, people are just fed up but find it hard to summon up emotions either way because of the absolutely soulless product we've been subjected to for years.

the situation calls for all supporters to be vocal this weekend, no matter what's happening on the pitch.
Let them all know
WE ARE STOKE
they can buy into it if they want

Everybody's pissed off after recent form and the way things have gone since our needless relegation, but I really get the impression from reading this board recently that a few - not all by any means - will be feeling quite smug if we lose again Saturday, and especially if we get relegated.
It'll justify their constant moaning about the club not being run in the way they approve of.
