Stoke City 52 (27) - 53 (28) Watford Watford snatched victory in the final seconds with a long punt forward from the goalkeeper. Very disappointing to be out-hoofed at home. The hoof-rate actually dropped a little in the second half, as few players found enough room even for a decent hoof forwards. In such a drawn game of football should the team that hoofs the ball more be declared the winner or the loser? Or just football the loser? Still there is room for entertainment even with this managerial philosophy in the game. You could have a Hoof-of-the-day award (Carl Dickinson's spectacular 60 yarder onto the head of the Watford centre-half), or even sell Golden Hoof tickets to the punters (Winner: 0.86 seconds). I know I shouldn't complain: I won £40 on Betfair on a predictable 0-0. Thanks to the mug on Betfair offering 14-1.

Still. I think the lads did well only getting slightly out hoofed by top of league. It proved we are able to hoof with the best in this quality league and can challenge for a top spot.

we just lacked quality in the final third to be able to hoof as well as Watford. We only lost by 1, so it was a respectable result

So? Your problem is? Since when ever have the media give a fuck about Stoke? Stop spouting bollocks and say something positive. The lads did very well today against the table toppers and I was very proud. GOOOARRNNNNN STOKE

How was it a predictable 0-0?!
Watford are top and won 3-2 in midweek after coming back from 2 goals down, and we battered Sheffield United 3-0.
We're 5th and I *think* only 3 or 4 teams have scored more goals than us?!

cOOkie is entitled to his opinion but I for one cant see the point of his post.
Theres only the baggies that are really outscoring Stoke and we,ve scored 8 more than Wolves.
In actual fact we have the 6th best strike rate and joint sixth best defence over 21 games.
More of the same ver the next 21 will see us in the play offs.
You do have to wonder about some supporters

Has one no sense of humour? Has Pulis finally knocked any sense of fun out of the support? Oh dear. 'Golden hoof tickets'.....I like it c00kie. OS.

I knew you would blame Pulis for Stoke fans lack of humour. ;D

We play the way we play because the manager feels that it's the best way for a small squad with limited resources to achieve results.
Why Watford play the same way when they have much greater resources and a bigger (and, lets face it, better) squad than us is a much more interesting question.

Merk, apart from you, of course, I have noticed a distinct lack of humour in the 'rimmers'. It seems he brings out the worst in fans....or attracts those of like mind to himself.....dour and uninspiring. Contrast that with the 'Bossies' who love to have a good time. GGOS.

;D ;D ;D I am stunned at this news, we were out hoofed at home, even by the top team I am still thoroughly disappointed at this news. I would have thought someone on the bench was keeping track and instructions should have been relayed to the players, it’s a tight game we need to step up the hoofs in the final few minutes. I am sure Tony will be giving the lads the hair dryer treatment at training this week and they’ll be hoofing it at full throttle next weekend. I hope this will not happen again this season, specially when Newcastle come to town, if we can out hoof a Premiership side of the calibre of the Geordies then all is well, specially as Big Sam is the King of hoof, come on Tone sort it out.

c00kie - well ithought it was funny ;D
It was a predictable result against Watford, let's be honest, neither of us would win awards for pretty football but we are both getting the job done. We need another option though, hence the need for some quality in the middle of the park. Eventually, scudding the ball as hard as you can and hoping for the best is going to fall short.
That said though, fuck the media. If we were playing like West Brom they'd just moan about the fact that we used to have hooligans, or something. We're just not very well liked.

Several newspapers have the same gag about children telephoning the NSCPCC (because apparently we had a kids for a quid promotion yesterday).
Sounds very much like some of these hacks got together after the game and made sure they got their stories right, and they probably went to the game with their minds made up about both teams and how the game would end up.
Like you say Dixie, fuck 'em.
