Just got to thinking about the optimism n good feeling we had only 6 months or so back…we’d got a proven championship manager to steady the ship, a complete squad overhaul with exotic names and exciting videos of the new players in action, we’d restructured with tricky n slickly coming in…the media side of things had improved with insights into all the new players n we genuinely had the feeling we were moving in the right direction…fast forward 6 months to this n it’s like a different club all together, it’s fucking shocking!!! We probably sold the dream to Burger n Bae n this is where they’re at🤦🏼♂️ for the first time in years im genuinely embarrassed to be Stoke, the rot has well n truly set in quite quickly with this lot n that’s alarming…I’ve got no confidence in them knuckling down n getting us out of this mess…they’re all a bit flakey aren’t they🤷🏼…it’s painful to watch🔴⚪️

It was a massive gamble though. It was really dependent on those choosing the players, to have a real sense of whether these players would be up to Championship standard.
Now it feels like an experiment gone wrong!
People keep saying how the Championship is crap, but look at the evidence, it doesn't appear to be exactly a doddle for clubs to get out of it once they've been in it 2-3 seasons. It's a tough league to compete in.

We changed far too many players, too quickly and yet despite doing that, we didn’t bring anyone in who could be described as being “in their prime”. Not a single one.
In my opinion, a good squad should have at least one goalkeeper, central defender (+1 other in the defensive line), 1-2 midfielders and one striker who are playing at their respective peaks. You supplement that core with younger and older players.
We didn’t bother and unsurprisingly, there’s a lot of question marks over mental fortitude etc.

If we stay up (and I think we will), last summer will have worked out alright I think. Apart from Pearson (who will hopefully find form again), contracts have been sensible.
There's no way every signing was going to come off.
The biggest issues have been the outgoings. Travers was a big loss, as was Brown. We should've kept Tymon.

We put our faith in wee jimmy krankie who has never built anything remotely successful, a snake oil salesman and some septic with a computer.
It's no surprise we are wank.

Burger was playing in Switzerland and playing champions league football…Bae was a rising star in his homeland and had other offers on the table…if they weren’t regretting it they need their heads looking at. I don’t think the money comes into it tbh.

On the occasions we've played well over the past few years, he's regularly been one of our standout performers. Even great players can look crap in a poor team.

Nobody knows how their move was sold to them. It is just as likely that they were told that they would be in the shop window for a move to the Premier League, or that they got a rise in their wages.

They can, you're right but he wasn't one and was part of the issue, he was useless as a left back. It was right to move him on but not to replace him with what I thought would be the back up to a first choice signing.
