quite clearly 3-4-2-1 yesterday, we then changed to a back 4 when Manhoef came on, with him playing wide right and Junho wide left. The problem with the back 3 is when your wingbacks/wide midfielders are as slow and poor at going forward as Gooch and Thompson, it becomes a back 5!

Lost last 3 on the bounce. Lost 6 of the last 7 games, with only a win at Watford in the middle. Hopefully we can get at least a point out of this one. Next team selection should be interesting and generally the starting 11 we should stick with. Charity train choo chooo

Line the players up,step forward those who are willing to fight for this club.
If 11 step forward pick a team from that,it can't be any worse than picking players who don't give a fuck for this club.
They may well lose, but at least go down fighting.

I imagine it will be:
Iversen
Junior Hoever Rose McNally Gooch
Burger Baker
Bae Cundle
Ennis
I donβt see him dropping Hoever for Wilmot (despite Wilmot having a good game yesterday and Hoever costing us it). Iβd be shocked if he dropped Cundle unfortunately either.

I havent been a fan of 3 at the back but weirdly it worked for the couple of games Gallagher was in charge and we've looked tighter in the last 2 It also helps our wingbacks in Gooch and junior who like t get upfield a bit As for Wilmot, well we aren't spoilt for choice unfortunately We played a back 4 yesterday. Not according to Schuey post match π

Cardiff....someone take a beach ball to lighten the mood. In fact no! Make it an inflatable day...beach ball, swimming pool, Bonita, Inflatable Technical Director anything goes.
Think gallows humour meets Brighton early 90s

The charity is rolling into town, all aboard, Choo Choo!!! I hate reading stuff like the OP. It should make you feel like a shark whoβs got the scent of blood in the water but you just know what we are. Itβs awful. Exactly, we just love to give a struggler a leg up

Press conferences are just an opportunity for managers to lie to fans more frequently. I think thatβs our best 3 but I donβt expect to see it (or any other combination) frequently. SS has too much of an itchy trigger finger.

Iversen Wilmot McNally Rose Tchamadeu Burger Baker Manhoef Junho Ennis Wesley We need to stick with 3 CBs to make up for the individual incompetence at the back. Need more of a threat up-front though. I'd bring Big Wes in to partner Ennis and give us a chance of getting the ball to stick up-front. Dropping Wilmot would eliminate quite a bit of the incompetence at the back.

Not according to Schuey post match π Fucking hell, he should have told the players. Only you seems to think it was a back four. If it were, who was playing where? It would have had to have looked something like this: Hoever Wilmot Rose Thompson (back four) Gooch (right wing back) Pearson Baker (central midfield) Cundle Laurent (central attacking midfield) Lowe (balloon chaser).

Thatβs been the thinking of all of the previous managers who have been useless why are people reverting back to what we know just doesnβt work? Like how short are your memories? I don't how short yours is but we have a new man in charge now. He hasn't seen the players' shortcomings except when we played Plymouth, and he doesn't have the collected memories of previous managers. Neil/Martin sacked all previous assistants, so he can't ask anyone for the lowdown on this or that player on our books. With games coming fast and sharp, he has next to no time in training to try things out, so he has to try them in games to some extent. He can make mistakes with such an approach, but at least he tries to do something about our malaise.

The distinctive characteristics of the way Stoke City play football-
1. misplaced passes br]2. Unforced errors 3. Lack of creativity 4. Inability to score 5. Inability to defend
This has been the profile of the team ever since relegation
No manager has succeeded in giving any sort of identity to the team
And Scumacher is definitely not the solution
We have seen absolutely nothing to suggest that he is capable of turning this team around
I have been advocating ad nauseam the need to appoint a continental manager who can come here and give a football identity to this team
Before the ones in charge drill this into their thick heads it will be nothing but continued heartbreak for us supporters

We played a back 4 yesterday. Not according to Schuey post match π this is why you simply have to scroll past some of the shite people post on here. Even when the head coach comes out and tells you the system he tried to play, you will still get the know it alls who question it π«£. To anyone that has ever watched football and understood it at any level it was clear as day the 3-4-2-1 shape which we began the match with. Some people back themselves into a corner with their forthright views and would argue with you all day if you told them the sky was blue.
