Iversen 7 - good saves and commanding in the area Hoever 6 - ok, but was sometimes troubled by Chair McNally 7 - good game. won more duels (after the first 15) than I've ssen him since mid-december Rose 6 - ok. was a bit lost between McNally and Thompson, but did well Junior 5 - poor showing, easily his worst game for us Thompson 6 - ok, a few poor passes Burger 8 - MOTM, but a few poor passes worried me at times Baker 7 - good game, did his job Cundle 6 - ran a lot, covered sapce well, but should be able to do more with the ball Junho 7 - worked his socks off as always, constant nuisance Ennis 6 - it's nice to have a striker run behind defences again --- Pearson 6 - brougth on for the defensive role and did his job Wesley 6 - did his job Laurent 6 - ran around a lot and did largely well Gooch 6 - good forward run, even worse than Junior defensively Leris 6 - lost a lot of headers --- Ref 5, quite a few errors, none were match deciding

Iversen 7, looked very comfortable. Hoever 6, his best game in a long time. McNally 8, great game! Rose 7, good game. Junior 6, good one on one defensively, but wasteful with the ball. Thompson 5, struggled with his positioning and too wasteful with the ball. Burger 8, MOM! Baker 6, steady. Cundle 6, his best game so far. Junho 7, good outlet. Ennis 7, worked really hard.
Gooch 6 Laurent 6 Pearson 6 Wesley 6

Iversen 7 - reliable tonight Hoever 5 - casual is not the word, but still better! McNally 8 - Centre backs, along with Burger, won us the game Rose 7 - ditto Junior 5 - huff and puff, poor really Thompson 5 - he loves going backwards doesn't he! has he ever taken a throw in before? Burger 8 - Good again, and won us the game Baker 6 - I like his energy and his corners, but he's got to look after possession better. I still prefer him in the team. Cundle 5 - someone please convince me!!! Junho 5 - I'm struggling with him, cant see what he is bringing atm. Naive with the ball and sometimes too casual off the ball I noticed. I must be missing something. Ennis 6 - cant trap a bag of cement, but a big improvement up top, started poorly but grew into the game and I like him compared to what we have had. Looks capable of creating headaches for defenders.
Subs: What a sorry lot!
Leris was brought on for his headers from goal kicks. He won just the one which he headed back towards our goal and put our CBs under pressure! What a crap signing he has been.

Iversen - 7 didn’t have much but dealt with it. Hoever - 7 one of his better defensive displays. McNally - 6 seemed better with rose but gives too many daft fouls away. Rose - 7 steady to be fair. Junior - 6 a bit headless chicken but a beast. Thompson - 4 so poor on the ball but has a bit of an engine. Burger - 8 class act Baker - 7 good and the bad on the ball but really does sprint back when loses the ball. Cundle - 6 a bit anonymous bar the ball that lead to the corner. Junho - 8 love this guy. Ennis - 7 did alright up top
Pearson - 6 Wesley - 6 Laurent - 6 Gooch - 6 Leris - 5

The thing I would say is our defence is far, far better without Wilmot. He stood up in the second half when we needed him. Looks like I'm not the only one who thought he put in a good performance.

Wesley concerns me only at the very end did he use his size to his and our advantage. A bloke that Suze isn't going to be mobile but he should be a target man at least. Sadly the ball never seems to stick.

I really want to like him, he looks busy, but alot of moves forward frustratingly break down with him but there is no bugger else we can play let's face it. I know I'm going to get slammed because I know he's very well liked. I'm just not seeing much substance though I like the fact we are persevering with him.

You know what, it was a must not lose match, we won with a clean sheet to boot. For those reasons alone I would give every one of them a 10 tonight including the manager. It doesn't matter how you win games like this all that matters is you win and we did. Gouranga.

Iversen 7 Hoever 6 Rose 8 McNally 7
Tchamadeu 6 Thompson 6 Baker 8 Burger 8 Cundle 6
Junho 7 Ennis 7
Pleasant surprises were Baker who did a lot more ugly stuff than normal, and Rose, who I thought was great.
And nice to see a striker putting a proper shift in

But a huge shout out for Ennis who ran that channel all night and the two much maligned centre half’s who stood tall and cleared/blocked absolutely everything thatcame into the box

Iversen - 7 not much to do, but what he did do he did well. Hoever - 6 couple of sloppy moments but better McNally - 7 - struggled first 10 but then worked out how to handle his opponent. Rose - 6 - nice to have him back Junior - 5 - quiet today, some little flashes Thompson - 5 - steady Burger - 8 - love this lad Baker - 7 - showed passion and determination Cundle - 6 - does a lot without doing a lot Junho - 5 - thought he was quiet today Ennis - 6 - played well with little service
Pearson - 3 - walked off at the end of the game without celebrating with his team mates, pissed me off. Wesley - 6 - came on and did a job Laurent - 5 - decent enough, needed fresh legs Gooch - 6 - sured up the right side. Leris - 5 - not much to do but offered an outlet.

Iversen.... 6, good save in the opening 4 minutes, point blank, but I've still seen them go in!!!
Hoever.... 6, better than I expected him to be in a back 3!!! McNally.... 7, started a little shaky, but soon got to grips with Armstrong!!! Rose.... 6, steady game!!!
Tchamadeu.... 5, not his best outing tonight, most of his passing was poor!!! Baker.... 6, nothing really notable, not good, not bad!!! Burger.... 8, he's just head and shoulders above everyone else at the moment (and not just in hight), has to keep the captaincy, even if Laurent gets back in the starting line up!!! Thompson.... 7, thought he was strong tonight, isn't afraid to get stuck in!!!
Cundle.... 6, seems to go unnoticed for large parts, but he does the link up play well!!! Junho.... 6, tried in the first half, but faded in the second, when QPR were doing most of the pressing!!!
Ennis.... 7, thought he did well tonight as the lone striker, looked busy, which is a plus point straight away over Mmaee!!!
Subs: Wesley.... 6, did what was required by putting himself about and making a nuisance of himself, but he's not the most gracious of player's!!!
Pearson.... 5, helped see the game out!!!
Laurent.... 5, same as Pearson!!!
Leris.... 5, same as Pearson & Laurent!!!
Gooch.... 6, looked a bit more comfortable than Tchamadeu when he came on!!!

Iversen 7 Junior 5 Hoever 6 McNally 7 (poor first 20 mins was bullied before being more aggressive) Rose 7 Thompson 5 Cundle 5 Baker 6 Burger 8 Bae 7 Ennis 7
Didn’t enjoy the football but we got 3 points. Cundle covered a lot of grass but seems to offer nothing. Not a fan of the formation, struggled first 20-30 mins when going man for man at the back and they had the upper hand, too much space in the middle of the park at times and then struggled down the flanks. Bringing Wes on was like playing with 10 men, give me Lowe over him every day.

Good points:We got 3 badly needed points. We abandoned an over Gung-Ho approach that wasn't working for us,for a more defensive set up. Had we played that way on Saturday we would have got something from the game. Hopefully with more practice we can tweak it a bit and be able to attack in a better fashion without totally exposing our defence. In the meantime we may be overreliant on set pieces for goals. As we become more confident in our ability to implement the system we are using and cut out some of our errors, hopefully our results will improve. Bad points: Substitutions seemed to be made just for the sake of giving players a game and made no real difference to either the style of play or the tactics we employed. What was disappointing was that even tho' we were playing against a very poor side and were rarely troubled by them, we never really controlled the game. Having said that, we didn't panic as we defended our lead. Whether this was because they never got any real pressure on us remains to be seen. Saturday will be a good test and we must hope that we can see further improvement. The last thing we need against Coventry is wholesale changes in personnel and a totally different tacticacal set up. Continuity is what is required as we evaluate what we need to stay up.
