If John Coates sacks Schumacher 4 weeks after publicly stating that Schumacher was the reason to be optimistic about the future, his position as chairman becomes untenable for me. I thought exactly the same thing when I watched the video the day after he said it. He backed himself into a real corner and its looking likely that JC will either have to die on his sword if SS takes us down by sticking with him, or JC will make himself look even more stupid by sacking him so soon after making that comment. I’m hoping we can scrape through this season, have ANOTHER rebuild, and see what SS can do next year. I’m not holding my breath!

All the managers around the world,& the best that JC can come up with, are Pulis & Heath, that's why JC needs to stand back before he takes us into Div 2,or God forbid, even lower. I don't think that is a correct assessment of the situation at all. We are at the arse end of the football season where we face a relegation battle and only recently recovered from a tricky FFP scenario. It is highly unlikely that should we sack SS, we replace with a manager already in another job. I don't think we could afford the compensation for both SS and the new manager. It is also highly unlikely that any respectable manager would leave a current job to take on a relegation battle, certainly not someone we could all get behind and be happy with. So we are down to out of work managers and that list is pretty small. It would be a very different story if we are recruiting again over the summer and I would of course expect a much wider net.

The noise is because we're doing crap and people are taking a punt, I could write 50 articles on who stoke might sign as their next manager but it would all be bollocks, plenty of noise with zero substance. Or do you really think Ainsworth has been considered? 😂 So you don't think the club are looking for imminent replacements for Schumacher? I've not seen anything that has convinced me no, all the "noise" is just that, from clickbait websites trying to get views.

And even more infuriating “Let’s call the guy I should have picked the phone up to 6 years ago”….rather than a washed out guy having a cuppa in his parents kitchen in Glasgow! That went well! Pulis had not long been sacked from West Brom after a win % of just 29%, he was taking them down before he got ousted. He was not the man to call to keep us up, he was finished as a premier league manager. He had performed a miracle keeping them up for goodness sake.

I still think we will stick with SS whatever the result on Saturday.
Who do people think will come in to the rescue..the list of names is comical to say the least. Pulis, Big Sam 😂.
If one of them came in and failed to keep us up, who would we appoint next season ?
Coates appointed SS and he will look a complete buffoon if he now sacked him.
I honestly think SS will be here regardless of where we end up at the end of the season.
Ironically he has already won a promotion from where we could be heading, so will probably be seen by Coates as the man to bring us back up.
Fingers crossed we stay up.

I would bet good money that Pulis comes back if we sack Schuey. Their potentially suicidal thinking will be Club legend "Loves" the club, it's in his "DNA" supposedly... They'll think it'll get the fans onside, when it's more likely to do the opposite All it'll make us do is fully realise what a behind the times fuckwit we have running the club in John. And then we'll probably still go down anyway and that'll be Coates and pulis reputation left in tatters. And a nice serving of humble pie to boot for bringing him back. It still amazes me mind, that we actually have fans who legitimately want the bloke back, it's staggering. Wrong in so many ways. Longest serving and most successful manager since Waddo. He does love the club it's not supposedly. I talk to a lot of Stoke supporters who don't voice their bile about Pulis on here and to a man I don't hear a bad word. Anyway the chances of Pulis coming back are zero. SS is not going to be sacked and the people mentioned to replace him is just pure speculation.

Though one or two more of the recent signings are ok, most of us probably agree that the two outstanding footballers are Burger and Bae. Looking at Tony's record I doubt Bae would get a game (see Tuncay , even Kitson) and Burger might have to wait ages (a la Whelan) before he figures out he can play a bit.

Pulis was accused of disgraceful conduct by a Premiership Arbitration Tribunal and this view was upheld by a High Court Judge. This verdict was made public by the Judge even though the hearing was held in private. I wonder if Bet365, as owners of SCFC, wish to have an official association with TP.

He had performed a miracle keeping them up for goodness sake. WBA weren't even in the relegation zone when he took over. Yup,could never understand why he said keeping WBA up would be his most difficult job in Football when he was appointed there. They had an okish squad too,if memory serves? He did genuinely work a miracle keeping Palace up from the position they were in when he took over however.I thought they were dead and buried.Should have won manager of the year for the job he did, imho.
