What about Roy Keane for a short term fix if Steven gets the bullet? Off topic... what happened to Toxic Avenger? The whereabouts of Toxic Avenger needs a thread of its own. Same with some of the other ledgends who gave a balance opinion. Hyaduck?

Though one or two more of the recent signings are ok, most of us probably agree that the two outstanding footballers are Burger and Bae. Looking at Tony's record I doubt Bae would get a game (see Tuncay , even Kitson) and Burger might have to wait ages (a la Whelan) before he figures out he can play a bit. Would it be to controversial to suggest Bae is a luxury we don't need at the moment. Yes has some skills and scored last week. But not a hard enough player for a battle to stay up. Don't get me wrong I think he could be a good player for us, just not right now.

It's not what I want but I do think Pulis will be appointed if we lose against Middleborough. I've heard this from my friends mum's friends ex husbands brother in law.
I really hope SS turns it around and gets a good result and performance tomorrow

I still think we will stick with SS whatever the result on Saturday. Who do people think will come in to the rescue..the list of names is comical to say the least. Pulis, Big Sam 😂. If one of them came in and failed to keep us up, who would we appoint next season ? Coates appointed SS and he will look a complete buffoon if he now sacked him. I honestly think SS will be here regardless of where we end up at the end of the season. Ironically he has already won a promotion from where we could be heading, so will probably be seen by Coates as the man to bring us back up. Fingers crossed we stay up. I'd be really surprised if SS survived if we were relegated. I base that on how the owners dealt with TP, MH, PL, GR, NJ, MON, AN. I think it depends on who's available.

There is no way Pulis would get a tune out of the current list of players. He will not tarnish his reputation on what he sees before him, at Palace he had a front 3 of Bolasie, Benteke and Zaha🤔

We have to stick with SS - the overcrowded squad of players we have are not his - whatever happens changing Manager yet again is not the answer this time. Let him build a side and get rid of the faint hearted wannabees. Start with Mmaee, one of a few who have let us down. Did not go unnoticed that when Pearson & Campbell were unused subs on the bench they left the benc( and walked down the tunnel before the end like two naughty children. That’s th3 sort of attitude we can do without.

If we do decide we can't risk SS taking us down, employing Pulis would be an incredibly backward step for the club and you can bet season ticket sales will plummet.

It’s in the Sun now. Sort of confirms the great man has retired though. It's happening. We'll be 0-1 down at half-time today, but TP will swoop down from the sky on a winged horse and land on the centre circle. The crowd will go mad and he'll charge into the dressing room ready to deliver a Churchillian speech about "working 'aaaard" and working class areas. The team will come out inspired and score 2 set pieces that he's got them to practice in the dressing room using bins and stuff for the opposition players. I don't know what the winged horse will do while all this is going on. Probably just walk around on the pitch looking a bit confused.

That article looks like pure bollocks - not a single quote from anyone, not a single ‘a source said’ about either Stoke’s or Pulis’s opinion, nothing to back up what’s being claimed whatsoever.

Just a lift from the boro story equally unsupported because the only quote os available is “ i am not interested in management anymore i have had my go time for others now “ if We want a new manager we will have to go out an find one which is why it will be Gally & co in the interim

Pulis is on stand by. He can't reject Coates family SOS. Pulis till end of season. Club will look in summer for a long term appointment. A long term appointment was made 74 days ago, on 19 December 2023. During the long term there will be ups and downs. If the approach is that: 3 wins, 3 draws and 6 defeats in 74 days is far too much to handle, then there is no long term now and the game is finished.

Honest can’t believe fans “at this stage of the season” would turn their noses up at TP coming in until the end of the season, Christ the owners insanely deemed Lambert fit for the job, never forgive them for that appointment.
Everything the owners have done for the past 6/7 years has been a complete disaster and as much as I really wanted SS to succeed he’s totally out his depth and has crazily made us worse, which was hard to do after AN.
Would TP keep us up in my opinion he’d be a better option than SS and that’s all that counts and not this SS to rebuild in Division One

Everytime a new manager or coach joins a new team initially its not "his" squad so they formulate a way to play that suits the players available not imho the other way around. You evolve a style over a period of time not clusterfuck the team into relegation by persisting in a style of play that they can't play. That is what is happening to us and its taking us down. Simplicity when under pressure because they lose their ability to function and resort to basics like losing your fine motor skills when scared during a street fight keep it pragmatic and simple to help them. Defence kick it away to row X if needed stop this unnecessary play fuck it off out of danger SS is putting unnecessary pressure on them. We're making catastrophic mistakes because of the way they are being asked to play simplify it and add some pragmatic play and that is what TP type does/ did well and the approach we need atm.
