Tomorrow it's FAT Tuesday again. Time flies.
Since I'm gluten intolerant I used to buy round buns, cut them in halves and filled them with whipped cream and almond pulp. No need for any icing sugar on the hat.
But they have stopped making them buns, the only bakery which made them. And since I injured my wrist I won't be baking any myself this year.
But. When I went by bus on Saturday and bought me a couple of junction boxes I happened to notice a grocery store had those FAT Tuesday buns for sale, with the whipped cream and all. They were said to be gluten free as well. But. The label said they contained Wheat starch. So I wrote to the bakery and asked what kind of Wheat starch they contained (there are different types: A, B, Clean and No-No). Today I got the e-mail saying they'd passed the e-mail further away to the person responsible for the gluten free articles.
However, it's the Sports Holiday in Sweden now when kids and parents go skiing elsewhere so I don't expect to get any answer this week.
The worst part comes after tomorrow though, when you're not supposed to eat properly for several weeks. In my case an exception since I need all the nutrition I can get.

Last Thursday was Polands Fat Thursday. I work with 3 long time Polish immigrants and they took great delight in explaining that in Poland it’s “regulation” to buy doughnuts on this day. They bought in around 50 obscene doughnuts, think Krispy Creme and double it. I don’t eat doughnuts due to some modern intolerance I can’t be arsed to investigate but apparently they were superb

No that’s the Duke of Something or other further down Ah ok A friend of mine DJ'ed there and invited me along and I mentioned the lack of ladies. He didn't tell me until a couple of hours into his set There was the odd gal there to be fair. The fellas with no arses in their jeans and handlebar moustaches should have rung alarm bells. I thought was odd having a Salvador Dali lookalike competition in Crewe

I've ordered before midnight two Semlor (the buns) from a bakery I thought was closed. Spooky!
Got the e-mail response now. I will get them within 1 hour. I have no idea what they cost.

Thankfully was very brief but I did manage to pass a couple arguing in public , the woman looked like Biffa Bacon's Mum. All I picked up was that if this bespectacled gentlemen wanted to be her fella, it was his job not hers to get her kids up for school while she had a lie in . Who needs the Jeremy Kyle Show when you have the open air play in Crewe town centre?
