I shouldn’t really like dads army at 43 years old, most of my mates think it’s rubbish but I love it. Sometimes, when you’re bored, it really does put a smile on my face Episodes like where they reveal Private Godfrey as a conscientious objector a beautifully crafted in terms of writing, acting and delivery. Good comedy is good comedy, it doesn't age. I've had to grow up to appreciate that. Everything new isn't automatically better. You’ve grown up? When did that happen? Yesterday?😉 Joking aside, there are, like you say some brilliantly written scenes and good comedy does not age.

The man who had a telly in the village would recreate the previous nights TV for everyone else His one man rendition of Robin's Nest and Mind your Language were my faves Not so much Kojak

Watched an ace episode of Dad's Army last week. They were cooking a turkey dinner for a load of pensioners. Turkey Dinner most famous for its story of drunken behaviour that provided the turkey in the first place!

One thing I did see that I loved.
As stated, he was a friend of Rick Wakeman and they did celebrity Mastermind together.
Upon MM asking for the contest to state his name…..
You can guess the rest.
RIP.
