Not a user of this board but a big Stokie and a great bloke, I'd know for over 50 years since starting Primary School together.
He recently passed away with the funeral being this coming Friday at Bradwell at 2.00PM
Went to my first ever Stoke game with him and his dad, and many others after that, until we were old enough to go on our own, when Stoke were away we'd also walk from Talke Pits to watch Kidsgrove or Vale now and then to watch a game of football on a Saturday.
Apologies to admin, I cant seem to create a thread or put this on the memorial board.

A lovely bloke and Stoke through and through.
I'm sure he'll get a great send-off this Friday.

I had heard that he passed away the other week.
Used to come on the joedog bus a lot but disappeared off the scene as we all do from time to time.
RIP buddy.

Only heard about this sad news on the weekend. Had some great away trips with him, TG and the rest of the mad buggers in the early 90's. RIP!

I'd stopped going in TG's van by then, 3 kids in 5 years restricted my away days I knew Neil beforehand but got a lift back in TG's van from Wigan (Ball's last game) as the car we were in broke down on the M6 and we hitched up. Saw Neil in the pub beforehand and he told me to jump in for the ride back. Remember getting back into Castle just in time for last orders at that little pub up from the Ritzy after stopping in about half a dozen pubs on the way back If ever I needed a lift to an away match, all I had to do was let Neil know and get myself down Stoke for 9.30am. Not sure if you remember but he put six coaches together for the Autoglass leaving the London Road Tavern in 92. I filled one of them with lads from Forsbrook, Blythe and Meir Heath.....Happy days.

I do remember, I was living down south then though. At the wake his cousin who I'd not seen for many years said the last time he saw me was in a van back from Wigan, I hadn't gone in the van but got a lift back with them, we could have been in the same van if it was the same game, my memory isn't so great these days on some individual games though.

Easy day to remember, it was pissing down with rain, we stood on a muddy bank at Springfield Park and lost 4-0, there was a rugby league fan bollock naked in the pub after the match, Ball got spat at by a child, and resigned by 6pm
