In that case, how could we hammer Neil the way we did? Where do you start? Poor team selection Poor in game management Poor man management Negative strategy You only have to look at Burger's performances of late to see who he prefers to play for. His post match analysis was enough for him to go, some of the crap he used to come out with was unreal!

According to someone I trust implicitly and who works in football, one of our biggest issues is that we don't have any players, in their prime (26-29 years old) that we can hang our hat on. We are largely a young team, with limited Championship experience, littered with ageing pro's who are long past their sell by date (Gayle, Clark, Stevens). He says, and has said for a long time, until we get a better balance of youngsters and some key players in that prime age group, we will continue to flounder and be blighted by the inconsistencies that we continue to demonstrate week to week. Michael O'Neill talked about this issue Problem is players of that age are either in the Premier League, have other issues (eg Powell with his injuries), or just are not good enough generally anyway MON would make a brilliant Director of Football 👍

I thought SS was a bad appointment and thought the job was too big for him-still might be! But you can’t help like his honesty and down to earth attitude unlike the last 4 or 5 incumbents. Should have dropped a few earlier in my opinion and certainly didn’t do homework on playing Campbell as a 9 - never hacked it. Hopefully he will react quickly and not persevere for persevering sakes.

AN was part of that recruitment team too. SS so far hasn't been. Cundle? Iverson? Iversen had been on our wanted list for a couple of seasons. Finally he became available, but based on his first few games his form has dropped. He may still come good. Cundle must have been a SS-instigated signing.

MON would make a brilliant Director of Football 👍 A few people have said this Completely agree We should have kicked him upstairs for the DOF he was after and then asked him to find us a useful manager.

Tymon, for instance, not as the left back managers kept dropping him to, but the mf/lwb role MON used him in at times. He never wanted to leave Stoke, but Neil got rid. Forrester could have been kept, if only he could have been given assurances that we were going to use him. More of that youth group but they were all sent packing, some for minor disciplinary issues. I suppose we had to sell Bursik, Collins, and Souttar just to survive, but I can't help but feel that if more had been done to keep them here, both they and we would be in a better place.

I understand that Stoke haven't been able to have shooting practice as they can't find a barn door that's big enough for them not to miss!
