I’m a fan I have to say. Surley we would benefit from him protecting our very fragile back line. Would also perhaps cut out the appaling passing out of defence we’ve witnessed today as he would be receiving short passes. Not sure about Cundle today, likes to keep the tempo up with quick passing but looks like a Jack of all trades master of none type of player after one viewing. Perhaps Pearson to start next week with Cundle adding energy after the hour mark.

An attacker should be playing instead of Cundle.

He hasn't in the time he's been here so won't start doing so now We move the ball so much better without him and he adds absolutely nothing apart from needless free kicks

Players like him for me remind the opposition that they're in a game. And lose concentration you'll get clattered. He might be just a squad player but needed most definitely

Last week was exactly why we don't need Pearson. The admittedly minalist bbc commentary went something like 89minutes Substitution Pearson on 90 minutes Foul Pearson Booking Pearson dissent
His stats were Played 1 minute, fouls 1, 1 yellow card

For me it's quite simple.
Burger is a better version of Pearson.
We don't need someone in the team to protect a weak defence. We need a stronger attack.
He's a decent player, but not a big loss.

An attacker should be playing instead of Cundle. Thats a very worrying analysis of our January business

If Cundle isn’t in the starting 11, Bae should be in the centre. Pearson needs to fight Burger for his spot. Good luck with that 😂

Pearson deservedly got dropped as recently as a few weeks ago. By and large, we've looked a better team for it. Suggesting he should come back into the side because we've lost one league fixture under the new manager striker me as a little bit reactionary, to be honest.
Burger is the future of Stoke City's midfield, and if the manager thinks the holding midfield spot is his best position, then I wouldn't anticipate seeing a whole lot of Pearson in the near future.

He’s been a massive disappointment this season. Looks like an overweight slow disinterested slob. Sadly someone thought it was a good idea to give him an expensive four year contract until he’s nearly 34 so we are almost certainly stuck with him.

He just looks like a short guy with poor posture to me.

Looked great last season but failed to live up to it this one.. pity! Hopefully he can recover his initial promise given he's likely here for a while. On a side note I hope Cundle isn't one of those players that proves to be a manager's favourite for no apparent reason as he has to justify his inclusion not just have it by the default of favouritism.

They kept saying yesterday about the defence and in particular Hoever needing more protection. Surely we just need people at the back who shouldnt need to be bailed out constantly.

Thought Candle and Bae played very well together in the first half but both Faded a bit in the second. They both created plenty in the final third but it's the finishing that's our bug bare at present.

The defence had a poor game yesterday thats true, but if we actually put away half our chances we wouldn't need to rely so much on our defence in the first place. Teams would he less inclined to attack us if they thought we had any ability to finish to our chances. My thinking is that our attack being so shit is putting undue focus on our defence. Edit: We've got the 4th worst 'goals for' record in the league, but are in the top 10 best sides in relation to our defence (goals conceded).

We did have plenty enough chances but our finishing was attrocious. I think we can put the “strikers not getting chances” argument to bed. Mmaee in particular was guilty yesterday of missing a few but he wasn’t the only one. With some decent finishing we should have buried them.

You shouldn’t need to score 3 to win a home game.

Pearson's been a massive let down.
He's carrying too much weight and needs to sharpen up massively......

A player living off a past perception. It's good to see him nowhere near the starting XI. If we could get rid in the summer and get Thompson on a new contract I'd be delighted.

If there’s interest from other clubs I would say he’s one that they may try to move on as we have Burger and Thompson that can play in his position and he doesn’t really fit in the new way of playing although I think he’s a decent player overall he will get caught out in 1-1 situations
