The Tower of London is brill. Go on one of the guided tours by the Beefeaters (I don't think you have to pay extra). They make it very interesting and should keep an 11yr old interested.

Museum of brands is cool but maybe not so interesting for the younger chappie
It's company brands ..not a history of the family of a woman fiddly, greasy long haired, unfunny ,loud mouthed fella
Transport one always interesting

Taking the lad ( 11 yes old ) down to that there London. Mainly for museums. 2 I got in mind, Science Museum & History Museum. Any suggestions Those two were my first London museums when I was 11 too. They are both superb and a really good choice. Be aware, though, that they are both so big that what I call museum fatigue can set in, when you’ve seen so much that you just switch off internally. Of the two, I would start with the Science Museum but I suppose it comes down to what he’s interested in. The dinosaurs and the Blue Whale are ‘must see’ at the Natural History, as is that big slice of wood at the top of a staircase, if it’s still there. The British Museum and the V&A are worth a peep too. If you can get a guide they are worth their fee, if they’re any good, as they go in to such depth (in an interesting way) about certain exhibits. And don’t forget about art galleries.

Don't know how you go about getting on it but you can ride the restored underground royal mail trains. Definitely on my 'to do' list one day.

Visiting Parliament when arranged by your MP can be free and is much more interesting than some people might think. Mark Fisher MP took me around once, he was brilliant about explaining the history to some teenage students. If you book it at the same time you can go up the Elizabethan Tower and go behind Big Ben. You can book here www.parliament.uk/visiting/visiting-and-tours/But if you contact your MP it is free

Another interesting "museum" is Highgate cemetery. ( Google the images) I would not necessarily take an 11 year old....but pictures of the ivy clad gravestones have been used in Dracula films. Karl Marx is there, as is Faraday... and George Michael and Jeremy Beadle. highgatecemetery.org/visitThe cafe in the park next to it is very good as well. lookup.london/highgate-cemetery/

Joking apart, pretty remarkable really, about a poor boy from Tupelo. Apparently when he died it made front page news in newspapers in Iran and Ethiopia ( iirc)

The Science Museum. Brilliant for kids (and adults). Next door to the Natural hostory Museum (again, brilliant), and also the V&A (less kids stuff).

Taking the lad ( 11 yes old ) down to that there London. Mainly for museums. 2 I got in mind, Science Museum & History Museum. Any suggestions Don't think you need any more suggestions for museums for an eleven year old mate. You've identified the best two and simply do one each per day and do something completely different for the rest of your visit.

Any suggestions To be fair is tough to choose Took a 13 year old niece recently and she wasn't blown away by the obvious ones, are interesting to a point but she preferred the magic, museum, transport, cinema but depends on their preference. The Magic Circle one and show her ultimate fave and a graffiti place. Have to admit to participating in a bit of that in my days and was happy to relive it they encourage you to show your skills ...I think the aim was younger people but couldn't resist. When your art impresses 15 year olds lads with fake Jamaican accents, you know you've still got it 👍. Like I said, all depends on what he's into to a point. Worth having a good look online before doing the routine ones

Went to the Sherlock Holmes’s museum a few years back which was relatively cheap and good fun. Also worth a look the Tate modern which is free and Tussauds.
For a creepier experience the Clink near London bridge.

Went again on NYE, the T-Rex at the NHM is always great to see. I’d also recommend the Power Up exhibition at the science museum. Consoles and computers from the past 40 years. Everything from Chuckie Egg to Sonic. www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/see-and-do/power

I can highly recommend the RAF Museum at Colindale. I had to drag my daughter away after spending half the day there.
Me and my son were actually a little bit disappointed of the Imperial War Museum in London.
