Imagine coming into a group of players who aren't performing well and are struggling in their division and thinking that calling them all shit and berating them in public is the answer. Bonkers really.
Compare and contrast to Schumacher has arrived here and immediately talked some of our big players up, got the confidence flowing and seems to be going with the approach of putting the proverbial arm around the ones who have needed it.
You could make the argument that at some big clubs, there are some wasters and over-hyped primadonnas who do need a bit of discipline and somebody to tell them they don't have a God-given right to play at the top level. But at a club like Forest Green, maybe a lot of the players... simply aren't that good? Maybe no amount of calling them out will suddenly make them especially talented. Maybe they need a manager who is prepared to work with what he has and find a system that gets the most out of them. Deeney seemingly too much of a knob to try that.

Couldn’t do a worse job than Deeney to be fair. Feltz it is Vanessa. Nah...They dont allow meat products at the stadium. She'd only be able to eat vegan pies at home games, though she'd be orait at away games.

I stumbled across an interview he did with Simon Jordan. He had a tough upbringing and has admitted to making a lot of mistakes in his career.

I stumbled across an interview he did with Simon Jordan. He had a tough upbringing and has admitted to making a lot of mistakes in his career. Many ordinary people have also had tough upbringings and suffer with mental health problems etc. It seems some footballers are now keen to utilise these opportunities for sympathy as a way to excuse certain shortcomings. Deaney does not have the intellect or necessary qualities to be a manager.

I should imagine this might have also put paid to any media career he was hoping for. He’d been on MOTD and the like semi-regularly but acting like a prize twat won’t endear himself to anyone. He’s got all this horribly wrong. I could kind of tolerate him on what I had seen on tele, but seems like wasn’t his actual self.

I don't know what he's like as a person, but he comes across as a bit, erm, intellectually challenged.
The players who go on to manage professionally tend to be those who have a bit more between the ears. Pep, Klopp, Emery, Arteta etc all come across as intelligent people capable of analysing a game and how to get the best out of their players. It's why I can't imagine Rooney having a successful management career either.

Does getting stuck into your employees really work in any sector in this day and age. Even the military have moved away from cnutishness and bullying. If they’re not good enough how can you help them improve.
