It’s funny but from reading the comments it seems a bit like a TP or Harry Redknapp sort of a story. Ie it never happened.

Did we ever play Man Utd when Keane/Neville were playing for them? One of Neville's last ever games was at the Brit, he should have walked after Rob Marriner absolutely bottled giving him a 2nd yellow, he was subsequently hooked straight after.........

Pretty sure he's mentioned that game himself as the time when he knew his playing days were done.

He retired straight after the game.......

I still remember the smirk on his face as he left the field He came out for the 2nd half, took his position and then bizarrely was subbed as the game was about to restart. I'm sure it was his 800th game or something as well.......

Spot on and him and Ferguson giggling away was everything that’s so dispicable about Ferguson specially and that vile institution in general may both their misery be infinite and computing by the day .

Pretty sure he's mentioned that game himself as the time when he knew his playing days were done. It was the WBA game when he made the decision that he was done but he always references being lucky to stay on the pitch at Stoke as a contributory factor as well

It is alleged that the referee spoke to Ferguson at half time and told him he should have been sent off and suggested that it would be wise to sub him. If true it's a disgrace. The foul(a blatant bad one) was on Ethrington who had been ripping Neville apart all the first half.

One of my favourite players of the prem era and I still always think that if he was fully fit for the FA cup final and Fuller was on that pitch we would have won. I know, if my aunty had bollocks she'd be my uncle and all that but still.

Walters had to have a shot at half time apparently I agree...think we would have won . Oh well

You are probably correct but I just remember that Neville should have gone and that the ref bottled it. I stand to be corrected mate. It wasn’t the Neville game, it was the Boxing Day fixture 2008. We had Wilkinson sent off in the 70min but Rooney should have been sent off before that. Lashed out with his arm hitting Faye square in the face, right in front of the linesman. No flag, no foul, disgraceful decision. When asked what he thought about the incident, Ferguson, said he didn’t see it so he couldn’t comment, which is remarkable, because it happened no more than 20 yards from the dugout.

Oh well Wasn't Huth only half fit and had sugar injections in his knee? Yeah,Huth damaged his knee defending a corner v Arsenal prior to the final, when a player (Adebayor?) landed on him in the goalmouth. Also Wilshere appeared to be deliberately trying to injure our players in that game, the way he was going into challenges, imho.

Think the Rooney incident was a much earlier game? Elbowed Faye in the chest down by the corner flag next to the tunnel?
