Starsky and Hutch was one show we always watched back then. Those two characters together with Huggy Bear and Captain Dobey. Definitely of it's era but enjoyable viewing at the time.
RIP David Soul

When I read Salem’s Lot (a book I go back to), I can’t imagine the character Ben Mears being anyone else but David Soul. RIP

It would be remiss not to post Silver Lady.
It's actually not quite as bad as we used to think it was, its every bit as cheesy as we thought, but not quite so bad.
RIP David, an inescapable part of my youth, however hard we tried!

RIP David, an inescapable part of my youth, however hard we tried! Had a couple of massive hits here didn't he? Seem to remember Don't give up on us also which was No1 in the States but oddly Silver Lady wasn't a very big hit over there.

RIP David
I saw him play the lead in Deathtrap , a murder mystery by Ira Lewin in 2002 at the Regent Theatre in Hanley. I cant remember much about it other than he was very good and it also featured Susan Penhaligon He was interviewed live on Radio Stoke with phone-in either the day before or day after and I rang up and asked him about his memories of playing a Space Hippy on Star Trek in 1966, he took the question well, live on-air considering it was quite a far-out part early in his career. I think he was painted orange with a silver wig More varied actor than some might think

He did indeed, 'Don't give up on us baby' was by far a bigger hit, but it felt like 'Silver lady' was the one you could not avoid!

Was a cool dude Antonio Fargas appeared at Ritzy in Newcastle once , Huggy Bear but not the Ford Torino which he had at some appearances. Huggy had possibly sold it to the man in the street for dope , baby ...who knows. I do remember trying to do the slide over the bonnet of my Dad's Lancia ...

I always use to think I was in Starsky & Hutch especially after a few beers going into my late teens & earlier 20's On one particular night around 92/93, after a few beers, per usual, my Starsky & Hutch senses kicked in again and I missed timed a slide on the boot of a car parked up on the pub's car park and went straight through the back window, arse first. I ended up just sitting on the parcel shelf before dusting myself off and running off
