'about/aboot' is literally the only way I can tell. I go to Toronto every year for work and we stay in the Theatre district and there is a sidewalk 'walk of fame'. I imagine it was instigated for this very reason. Every year I walk over it on the way to the Elephant & Castle followed by favourite Thai restaurant and say something like "Oh I didnt know Kim Cattrall/Michael J Fox" etc was Canadian. Like, every year I learn a new famous Canadian Thinking of going to Toronto later this year, after Chicago, and then onto Collingwood up by Lake Huron. Looks like Niagara Falls is an easy day trip from Toronto, what's the best area in Toronto to stay, the waterfront area ? [brhotel has stadium views if a game on...think is CN tower hotel. Can watch the game from your hotel room. Is great. Nice area also

I go for work so always need to be central in the downtown central business district which works out quite well as its central and urban and busy but not manic My favourite hotel when budget permits is the Fairmont Royal, bit of a local landmark and right opposite train station. ive only ever stayed in King St West or v close by Like Manhattan you can do quite a lot in a day as downtown is quite compact - CN Tower, aquarium, ferry to the island, china quarter, Theatre district etc. Niagra is do-able in a day although Ive never done it as Ive always wanted to explore the city. Its a full-on day trip and most hotels offer a pick up and drop off package with tour guide. I'd hope some Oatcaker can come on here and give the perspective of a holiday maker, ive literally had 2 and a half free days in four visits. I love the vibe of walking around and looking at the mix of architectural styles, the brownstones, the coffee, the donuts etc,= a great city. Send me a PM if it comes off

Staying in Toronto I would recommend midtown area if you want to save money but be still be close to it all. Very easy to get around either walking over or underground pathway system, Subway or Tram. If you don’t mind spending more than generally the closer to the lake, Union station etc you get the more expensive. I usually stay at the Sheraton on Queen street opposite City hall. Very nice and easy to get to everything.
Niagara is very easily accessible. I would recommend going on the train or bus as the QEW (motor way between them) can be a massive ball ache. Stay overnight as it makes for a long day going there and back in a day.
Niagara Falls is amazing to see but don’t spend too long there as the whole town is a massive rip off tourist trap.
Collingwood and all along Georgian bay is beautiful.

I highly recommend visiting Niagara on the Lake while you're in the area, it's only a short drive from the Falls. If you're into wine the hotels there often have deals on that come with a wine tour included. If you like doughnuts then Beechwood Donuts in St. Catharines has the absolute best and is worth the stop.
