The guy knows he himself isn't quite to the level we need on a consistent basis yet he still plays his heart out for us, even when the fans are on his back. Yet without his performances we truly would have been fucked this season, he has made some vital saves just a shame that we as fans can't appreciate his efforts.

He's been given a years extension, on better money that his ability really suggests (he's probably a league one 1st teamer).... So, he's fine as a second choice here!!!
That said, he does get some unnecessary grief on here because of his ability, or lack of it.... Which is unusual for this message board!!! 🤔

Why would anyone feel sorry for him?
He's in the 1st team, playing well and getting paid shit loads of money.
What a strange thread.

I don’t feel sorry for him.
I just find it utterly bizarre the hyperbole around his performances when in the main he’s been steady……

He'll be paid a hell of a lot more than me to play first-team football for a club in the second division of English football.
If we sign a goalie in January, he'll be paid a hell of a lot more than me to turn up for training a few times a week and sit on the bench.
Respectfully, why should I feel even remotely sorry for him? For a living, he is doing what most people dream of as kids.

He’s done fine on the whole and is a good shot stopper.
His issues are around crosses and distribution to a lesser extent.
He’s a good no.2 who plays half a dozen games a season.

No.
He’s playing football, a sport that garners all sorts of open critique. If he didn’t like that, he should find an office job.
It’s not like he’s forced to play football, or that he gets that much more grief than anyone else.
