Yes we’ve a long way to go and some of our squad just aren’t upto it But the last two games have been more entertaining than anything seen for ages You can see we want to go forward at every opportunity and there’s more effort all round
Nowhere near the finished article but already a million miles away from the shit we’ve been used to

Really enjoyed todays game.
It won’t always come off but so much better to watch than the fayre under Neil.
Our biggest problem today was the lack of quality and effort off the bench. Aren’t they supposed to inject energy not sap it.

Aren’t they supposed to inject energy not sap it. Felt like it went downhill when Junior came off. He’s been immense. Overall, I really enjoyed the game.

We gave it a go and got through on more than one occasion by neat passing. I was on my feet because we tried and tried, Watford were clearly playing for a point at home!! We did not do anything of this passing it back and sideways nonsense.
Should have had a penno. But the ref would have capped a fine night for the home fans if he gave that 😁
Shame Berger, Mmaee and Pearson had to come off.

Thought we played some lovely through passes, lay offs and flicks. They didn’t all come off but it was good to watch.
Thought Baker had an absolute mare but he can probably blame rustiness on that.

Always frustrating not to beat 10 men, but much more enjoyable to watch. Would of taken a point beforehand

I think we missed Gooch today. Same has Junior seems to have a positive attitude and gives us a drive.

Thought today was loads more entertaining than the shite AN mostly served up. So refreshing even if we could have got tonked. Onwards and upwards!

I thought it was a good point.
The manager is making sure the players throw everything at it every game. They did well first half to keep up with Watford, who have better players than us in key areas. They have commanding centre backs and menace in attack.
When it went to ten men it was a horrible game, about ten subs were made, with diving and cheating all over the place, it was clever game management from Watford.
Schumacher will have noted how badly our subs contributed when they came on. He will know we have some good players but are way short in key areas.
The players gave it everything so I'm happy with the performance despite the glaring deficiencies.

The question is a simple one.
Which would folk prefer to watch ?
A performance like last night ,despite its obvious flaws ?
Or one where we are clearly time wasting at 0 -0 at home to the team bottom of the league?
I know which one I prefer...

We played some lovely stuff. It wasn’t perfect but you can see how we’re trying to evolve. Not something that’s been said often about Stoke in recent years.
Plenty of moaners on here who apparently saw a shit performance but it was far from it.

I'm actually looking forward to watching us play again after years of absolutely dreading it.
Early days for sure but big improvement so far.

Just so refreshing to see us commit players forward and playing football further up the pitch, actually giving the opposition something to think about instead of being easy to take the ball off and put under pressure. In some ways it’s hard to believe that this is the same group of players as 3 weeks ago but on the other hand I always thought that this lot had more to offer than what we had been seeing. Very encouraging, looking forward to what comes next 😎

This, 100%, although you missed the bit where we'd concede a late goal to lose 0-1 😏

I had the Watford commentary on my stream I loved how they kept going on about us playing a ridiculously high line. I think Wilmot is going to be ideal for Schu and make playing that way even better. And yeah we might get tonked occasionally. So what.

I think that there is a much different feel to what we are trying to do now.
Under AN if always felt like our first priority was trying to limit or nulify our opponents. Schuey seems to have a much more positive mindset where his first thought is what problems can we pose.
Obviously Schuey us still getting his feet under the table. He as had three games in quick succession and will have had pretty limited time on the training ground. He will still be learning about the squad and what they are capable of.
5 points from three games is not a bad little return really.
Onwards and upwards!

It was feeling like a chore and total boredom watching games. Can actually say I've enjoyed watching the last 3 games, and that's all down to SS.

Plenty of moaners on here who apparently saw a shit performance but it was far from it. I certainly didn't see a shit performance. After the sending off I think we got a bit excitable and scattergun ,trying to rush things ,playing quick one twos that didn't amount to anything. That said we did manage to carve out 3 half decent chances to win it but we could have easily lost it but I'd sooner us risk that in trying to win rather than being shit scared of losing.

I have noted the high line and the fact the ball reaches our front players more rapidly. Plus we have far greater numbers getting into their third. I did have a little fright each time we gave sloppily gave away possession in a dangerous area; but rather see that than 50% of the match watching the defenders pass it to each other in our half. Schu has certainly increased our XG - we can’t radically improve our play without taking a few risks initially.
Main thing is I actually look forward to the next match, glad we’ve had Schu managing us this Christmas!!

And because we are on the front foot more we are winning 50 50s deeper in the opposition half making it more likely we create chances as we move their defensive lines about under more pressure. And it's just more exciting to watch. Sure we're going to get countered more. But to be fair that was happening anyway. I think Schumacher is a very good fit for Stoke at this point in time. We needed that change in outlook. Hopefully he goes on to take us forward this next 18 months and who knows maybe a sniff of the play offs 🙏
