I honestly don’t get that vibe from him, I think he’s going to go very far in the game. Agree, I think he's the first manager we've had for years who is likely to be poached before he's sacked. Let's hope we get promoted before Everton come calling. Don’t think the bloke with a nut stuck in his throat is going anywhere soon.

A different interview but on the clubs YouTube, how refreshing is it to know the rough timescales of injuries and what the injuries actually are, instead of the arrogant 'guess who' bullshit we had to put up with from Neil? It's great knowing that Gooch and Laurent will be back in a few weeks and it's good to know that one has a calf injury and one has an ankle strain. For the first time in a long time I feel genuinely connected to the club and players I support each week, and even though we're nowhere near it, feel part of their rehab and wellbeing. It might not seem a big thing to most, but to me it's a massive step change. That will be a nice change AN’s secrecy over injuries was petty and irritating. If Gooch is out for weeks and with Junior off to ACON that seems to rule out seeking to return Hoever. That’s going to piss on quite a few chips on here🤣

He’s certainly saying all the right things. But come on, he’s only had 2 games. A loss tonight and people will want him sacked in the morning.

Even more surprising is that Mad Nath is the only name that springs to mind of getting the opportunity in those circumstances without earning it. Seems to be far easier to get a premier league manager gig by doing well in some no mark league than the championship. Or just being a big name former player.

That's a great listen.
I'm trying my best not to get carried away.
I brought into Nathan Jones massively based on his words. I also believed in Neil, and most of the others before him, based on interviews and words etc.
At least it sounds like he'll let the handbrake off.
Rooting for the guy.

So far we have drawn at home 0-0 against a Millwall side who had won only one of their last 12 matches and defeated Birmingham City who are going downhill faster than a greased pig. Tonight will be a test of an altogether different stripe. A night match away against an excellent Watford side who will be smarting from a humiliating defeat last time out. If Shuey is spreading some love and positivity then its an excellent start, we certainly need that because the last bloke had a head like an orange and he was borderline psychotic.

I think Jones was different than the others. More the profile of the appointment. It was the only one that initially excited me. Saying one thing “athletic young boys” and doing the opposite and his constant references to his god bothering soon wore very thin. The others I’ve had to really try to be positive about once they were appointed against my hopes but yes you do have to try to find positives in them in those circumstances. I did so with AN despite being really cool on his appointment.

It looks and sounds like we've finally got ourselves a top coach. (Why's it taken us so long, and what "process" selected him this time?) We'd better make the most of it while he's here as he's undoubtedly destined for bigger than us. With Sir Peter of the Coates empire money there is no better, might be bigger but no better to work for if he delivers According to HITC only Citeh's and Newcastle's owners are richer

I love this bloke.
He just gets us as fans and what needs to improve in the team.
He’s as down to earth as they come, his attitude will get him tons of good will with the fans.
Great appointment Stoke… finally.

Hammerings. They’re a reality of life for most modern day football clubs on occasion. Look at how we ripped Sunderland apart last season, who’d take our season over their’s. We’ve seen with the last 2 managers and many more before them how living in fear of the odd hammering only turns your season into a living nightmare.

I'm really not sure how anyone could buy into Alex Neil based on his words. Instantly he came across as aloof and arrogant, an arrogance not befitting at all of his achievements in the game. He was impossible to warm to and even more impossible to trust. I guess the players felt the same. I instantly couldn't stand Rowett. I instantly couldn't stand Neil. I disliked Jones immensely after about 3 weeks but I did like MON. I was sad to see him wilt under the strain the way that he did and in time, I think he'll be viewed very favourably for the job he did in difficult circumstances. The only manager we've had that didn't get given the keys to the sweetshop and he was desperately unlucky with injuries to key players at key times.

If he got poached,it would mean we are doing very well,,so we would be able to entice a manager who is better than the ones on the last list.

Fair assessment Dave, can't agree with you re: Bonham, but it's all about opinions. MON was or seemed a genuine nice man, Schuey I think is the real deal, whether the job is too big for him, time will tell, but I like his football ethos and with a couple of good signings in the window, I wouldn't write this season off just yet. I think it will be a fun ride..

Telling line: “You certainly play a more entertaining brand of football than Alex Neil.” Good listen that. His response was telling as well. “Players want to play and like to play attacking football don’t they!” Image the concept. Playing players in the correct positions, which they know, and feel comfortable in. Asking the team to play a style of football they enjoy. Some sort of strange witchcraft this is shaping up to be.

I’m glad I’m not the only one 😂😂😂 It’s like some form of mass hallucination. Don’t get me wrong. I like him. He’s done well. But some of the reactions are way over the top. We’re the definition of a bi-polar fan base.
