We're probably also still paying off MON, Nathan and even Rowett as well! Doesn't them getting a job make a difference? I'm not 100% sure. I would have thought in normal life if you got rid of someone mid-contract who was not in breach of contract you would need to pay them off whether they got another job or not? I don't see why their getting another would alter your obligation. But perhaps that is in the small print of football contracts. Who knows...

In what other walk of life can you agree a deal with your employer, then be as utterly wank as you like, knowing full well that regardless, you'll get paid up your salary in full? Also Bank Chief Executives. Bring a bank to its knees and hey presto receive a golden handshake of 40 million to get rid of you. Im lucky to get a nice reference, and my unused holidays paid out How did you bring a bank to its knees?

My understanding is that the club continue paying the sacked manager their monthly salary, then when he gets another job – if the new job pays less than the old one, we pay him the difference. Not sure how that works in principle. For instance, let's assume a manager was on £100k p/month on a 3-year contract, and the club sack him after a year. He then walks straight into a new job on a 2-year contract. That new club could just sign him on for a quid p/month, knowing full well the old club would have to fork out the other £99k. Or is that too simplified? I must be wrong, 'cos it sounds nonsensical. Happy for someone to correct me.

Give me 3 months and HSBC would be out of business, government would have to step in to take on the bad debt, and I would make millions from it.

I wish I understood this better. And for fear of repeating myself I don't see how this would differ for football than any other walk of life. A contract is a contract and subject to contract law so in the end I guess it is down to what the contract says. Perhaps football contcracts are typically worded differently to other contracts. Long story short, I haven't a clue!

So we're currently paying him £1 million and AN £1.5 million? You can see how easy it is to burn money owning a football club. We're probably also still paying off MON, Nathan and even Rowett as well! No as they got other jobs after Stoke so I think the payments end.
