Think he needs to change his name, it leaves such a bad stink around Bet365

Think he needs to change his name, it leaves such a bad stink around Bet365 The real Sparky delivered the best football I ever saw at Stoke in the 40 odd years I’ve been watching - lost the plot in the end but hasn’t left a stink for me…..

This. He brought in some excellent players and we played some amazing football in our prime. Hughes' main problem was that he lacked the authority and discipline to keep so many big egos in line and in that final period wasted copious amounts of money on poor signings. I would happily shake his hand if he ever came back to the ground.

Think he needs to change his name, it leaves such a bad stink around Bet365 It really shouldn't. Hughes gave many of us some of our best experiences as Stoke supporters. And certainly the best players. Unless the stink he left is Marzipan, mixed with Play Doh, I'm afraid you're wrong 😉

There were two very different sides to our experience under Hughes. We undoubtedly played some great football and his signings of Bojan, Arnie and Shaquiri were sensational. For 3 seasons it was great. Then he left us with a dysfunctional squad, the worst defence in the league, heading for relegation and a huge legacy debt after blowing a season's income on Berahino, Imbula and Wimmer.

Like I said, lost the plot in the end like most managers do.......

Halcyon days compared to the last 5 seasons
