How is that even relevant to what I said? You don't need an exciting manager to play exciting football. My entire point is that the manager's personality and media profile means bugger all - it's what the do with the team that counts. It was more a point as to what many of our fans find exciting anyway rather than any sort of rebuttal of your post. I’m quite clear I couldn’t give two hoots what the managers personality is like (I’m quite keen on Mowbray FGS). Goals scored, games won, margin of wins is what excites me about football. As opposed to points accrued, position in the table, clean sheets, CB’s etc. I know you have a very different viewpoint but enjoyment of the games is top priority for me. Generally speaking in modern football enjoyable football is successful football so success is a more likely byproduct anyway but no I wouldn’t swap boredom and misery for a few extra points or positions in the table. You are perfectly entitled to prefer exciting football over results - that's purely an opinion. The problem is your insistence that "modern football" is based on your outlook and that "modern managers" go out to play exciting football and automatically win games as a result- that's an opinion about what actually happens in the real world and you have no right to claim that's true without challenge. And it isn't true - football is all about results and everyone in the game knows that. Those "modern managers" playing exciting "modern football" can only do that because their defence is rock solid and the team can afford to take risks. Providing they are winning games they will carry on doing it but as soon as they stop winning games they will either sort out the defence or get the sack. Defending is as important in the modern game as it has always been. Your view about how football actually works is based on a fantasy as to how you want it to work. You are entitled to your fantasy but don't expect anyone else to join you in your dreamland.

Pragmatism, fear of and inability to cope with disappointment.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Nuno's Wolves side spent £50,000,000 on transfer fees and had one player on £80,000 per week to get out of the division, courtesy of Jorge Mendes. They weren't bothered about FFP because they surmised that they'd be out of the Football League's reach if they bought the Second Division with a load of top-end First Division players from Portugal.
We're not missing out on much here.

Come off it goalkeeper’s, CB’s, clean sheets and long past glories seem to excite our fans far more than goals and attacking football. some fans are to easily pleased Some will believe anything they read on the internet.

The first thing he will do if he does get appointed is sort out the defence because that is the problem and any manager coming in will get that. Because first and foremost they are all pragmatists.

Hard to get a deal done when it never existed. If this is true I have at least enjoyed imagining it for a while……… What if any actual thread of evidence can anyone provide and verify as true regarding any names on the new manager list? i have not seen or heard anything that i would count as evidence ,the club are keeping this hand tight to the chest, just hope the wait is worth it.

No way Nuno would have packed the place out as someone suggested, he's nowhere near that big a name. Would have been a good appointment but last thing we want us to be throwing huge money at a manager and his backroom staff with a window coming up as well.
If the stories are true then we've done the right thing for me.
Also, he has a beard

Any fan who puts being excited by the manager above getting a manager who will improve the team has seriously lost the plot and any owner who actually takes exciting the fans into consideration when choosing a manager shouldn't be choosing the manager. Come off it goalkeeper’s, CB’s, clean sheets and long past glories seem to excite our fans far more than goals and attacking football. I actually do like watching defenders. It’s where I played when I was a kid and my Dad used to keep asking me questions about what they were doing out of possession to see if I was paying attention. Football is a generally low-scoring game. If you only like watching it for goals, you could skip the majority of the game and just watch the short highlights at the end.

Or I could just keep watching it and hope that we take a different approach. I know it’s a majority of the time but we haven’t been the most boring club in England for the entire of my supporting life.

We're not missing out on much here. I think part of that is what we need though. We need someone who has experience of building a team in the Championship with a bit of money. It's arguably the problem that we've had with Rowett, Jones and MON, these managers work well in tight spots with few resources. We want someone who can identify a player, convince them to join a second tier side and then play under the pressure of having to win.
