Problem was he could hardly spot a good defender if he was right in front of him, the same could be said about defensive midfielders.

Well I definitely don’t dislike him, best football since the 70’s other than the macari time (that was just special ) Naah best football full stop.Lou’s tenures had a great feel about them with some special players but the football wasn’t on the same planet as the very best under Hughes. We went toe to toe with the best in the country and often out footballed them. Memories I’ll take to my grave. Many Stoke fans actually seem to crave boredom.

As the years pass it's the good stuff I remember more than the bad stuff under Hughes
Would certainly give him a very respectful clap if he returned as an opposition manager
I liked Michael O'Neill but other than him prefer Hughes to all the other 4 managers we have had since

No chance he’s coming back he’s a decent manager and he’d be sorting the charlatan from Norwich out within 10 minutes volleying the cultural architect over the boothen end

I rated Hughes very highly till he allowed Huth to go that one thing did it for me as Shawcross was never the same player. In hindsight Huth had the last laugh by going on to win the league with Leicester. Keeping the ageing and spent Glen Johnson and getting rid of Bardsley instead.Absolutely ridiculous decision,

Every single manager on the planet has a shelf life. Hughes got to the end of his.
There's absolutely no need for anyone to feel ill-will towards Hughes. Only an idiot would fail to recognise what he did for us.

He was decent but I think a large part of that was the players that Pulis signed - particularly in defensive areas. As time elapsed and they gradually left he was found wanting. Yup. Managers like Pulis, Allardyce etc have showed you can survive with a spine but little flair, you can't do it the other way round. But I'm grateful to Hughes, the flair he added to the Pulis spine gave me three of my favourite ever Stoke seasons.

Best football I’ve ever seen us play.
I felt sorry for him more than anything, he was begging to be sacked and shock horror our fearless leaders dithered and dithered and dithered.

He'd get a warm reception. The more time passes the more you remember the good times.
Look at the vitriol Sheron and Kav had at one point yet they were both welcomed back with open arms (was it the 150 year celebrations?) The same would happen with Arnie, not that I'd ever expect him to be back this way.
"I'm glad we didn't sack you" "Thanks mate"

We played some great football under Hughes. We also played some dire football that led to the crowd chanting for him to be sacked.

One of our best managers ever, if you don’t see it then you’re just a moron. He had us playing the best football we’ve ever seen. 2-0 vs man city 4-3 vs everton 2-0 vs man United 6-1 vs Liverpool League cup semi final only going out on penalties Top half prem finishes Bojan, Shaqiri, Arnie, Joselu etc… He had one bad season where our recruitment team failed to keep the spine of our team. This.

In hindsight Huth had the last laugh by going on to win the league with Leicester. This. It was his first and biggest mistake that led to his downfall. What on earth was he thinking? But, apart from the team of the 70's, he gave us the best football we've ever seen. OS.

Gave us the most entertaining football since the 70s. Bloodied the noses of the high and mighty In the end he stayed one season too many, it happens to the best But let’s not forget some of the great moments we had
I regard him up there with the best we’ve had

As good as Hughes was he never seemed that interested.
Like a bloke who found managing easy but wanted to be challenging for trophies not pissing around in mid table.
I just found him a bit meh. Competent, for a period excellent, but ultimately verging on forgettable.

Not sure I’d be totally against running it back with him now.
Vidigal as his new arnie. Bae as Baejan Burger his Nzonzi Pearson his whelan
I’m must still be giddy that we’ve almost acted fast on the AN conundrum.

He never showed he could build that, just build on it.
