Interesting appointment.
Despite all Wilder's major achievements at United, the fans are very divided on him, since they find it hard to forgive him for the way he left the club, with quite a toxic culture at his time of departure. Fans not impressed by the way he conducted himself. Maybe a vaguely similar to Pulis' relationship with fans at Stoke, the top 9 finish and the FA Cup final transformed it for TP of course, so feels like Wilder would have to do something similar there which is a big, big ask.
He will have to turn this around and a couple of bad results will heap huge pressure on him.
From working in Sheffield there seems more love for Heckingbottam than Wilder even now.
Fans are not very enthralled about Wilder put it that way.

The time he was at Leeds was the time it was being run like a circus His time at Sheffield Utd should give him the opportunity of a really good championship club job again

With Wilder off the market that's us stuck with Neil for the foreseeable then ! Thank god for that. Wilder has a track record for losing the dressing room - we need that like a hole in the head. Neil doesn't suffer players taking the piss but he's always retained the respect if the majority of players - Wilder makes things toxic. Sounds like a really bad appointment to me.

Trusty? Hamer? Archer? They've signed some good players but the players they've signed are championship players and they look like they resigned themselves to coming down, then they've sacked the manager because they aren't picking up points, strange decision.

Steve Bruce is still available so no need to worry where our next manager might come from

Hope they are relegated. He basically saved the club by getting promotion. Then they sold their best players because they were still in shit street financially and expext somehow not to be bottom of the league.
And Wilder comes across as a grade A twat.

Thanks for the correction but I think its still fair to say that Pulis mostly turned it around with the fans after being almost universally disliked and distrusted.
