Do you prefer white or brown eggs btw? I'm having breakfast now. To me it doesn't matter.

Had two absolutely world-class poached eggs with mashed avocado on toast about an hour ago. Prepared by marlady, perfectly gooey yolks, salt and a couple of twists of black pepper, chilli oil and coriander to garnish. God damn. Love an eggy-weg.

I can’t have egg next to beans on a full English, I have to build a sausage dam to stop them colliding

Not a beans person either or those horrible fried tomatoes.
Couldn't eat a breakfast anyway . Way too much , never mind in the morning ...nothing wrong with a blueberry pop tart to start the day
Little Chef used to do the Olympic breakfast just for fat reps who looked like Eddie Large. Was a swarm of them in the 80s eating Olympic breakfasts up and down the country

Sometimes put them in a little ramekin at the side

What's Mrs Log's secret for a great poached egg. I've tried a number of methods and never get it right I really don't know mate, I've watched her carefully and she doesn't seem to do anything special but I can't replicate it to save me life. She just carefully cracks them into gently simmering water (quite shallow). But whereas hers come out plump and rounded and soft, mine look like something you might see at the end of a urinal in a pub in Trent Vale. That said, I can do a mean version of an egg which is sort of semi-fried, semi-poached - heat quite a lot of olive oil in a saucepan so it's very hot, then lower the heat and tip the pan so it pools at one end, put your eggs in (easier if already cracked into little bowls) and spoon the oil over the eggs while at the same time gently gathering the white in and over the yolk so it makes a little compact package. You don't need to cook them for long at all. I've found it a great alternative if your poaching game is wanting.

Sounds idiot proof which is handy for me😉 I’m same with poached eggs, do exactly the same as the next person but they’re terrible. Having said that I wouldn’t use olive oil as it doesn’t do well on a very high heat, maybe rapeseed🤔

I didn't have you down as part of the metropolitan Liberal elite fella. Please tell me it wasn't sourdough bread? Reminds me of a few years ago when my then 6 year old son had a massive strop about the fact that his smoked salmon, smashed avocado and poached egg toasted sandwich was taking too long to come in some trendy little cafe we'd stumbled across. My 6 year old self eating fried egg and chips in Tunstall Market flashed in front of my eyes and I had to chuckle...........

Sometimes when I do fried eggs, for on bread or toast, I also add a slice of burger cheese on top while frying them. Add some salt n pepper and all good.
