Gave a penalty and a yellow card to Stevens for a minor tug on the QPR players shirt but they nearly take Wesleys (I think) shirt off from a corner and nothing. The defeat is down to the ref tonight he was shocking to put it mildly. Gouranga. A shirt pull is a yellow under the laws, minor or not but he missed ours He certainly played his part as did our substitutions afterwards Why didn’t colbeck get booked for pulling Burger or the guy that held on to Leris in the box get booked then? 🤷♂️ it’s not all unfounded paranoia ( some is 😂)

Point was , any kind of shirt pull, irrelevant how serious The one on Leris was blatant ..I think was Leris.

The referee tonight was corrupt, he wanted the QPR win to pay his respects to Terry Venables. When we scored to go 2-1 up he was trotting back to the halfway line with the QPR players just shrugging his shoulders as if to say; I’ve given you a free penalty and sent a man off to try and help you but you need to do your bit too!
People complain about VAR but at least it’s consistent for all teams. Referees on the other hand are not and the sooner they get fucked off out of top level football in favour of a computer (AI) the better.
That said though we were absolutely calamitous in defence tonight and but for two outstanding saves from Bonham in the first half would have been down by two goals at half time.

I would like to have a look Any angle I have seen, there is nothing more than two men side by side grappling to get to a ball, nothing to suggest one pulled the other unfairly to get ahead?

I’ll give you the pen however it’s the sort of thing that goes on a lot in games unpunished like ours in the second half. If he’s going to give that he needs to give ours second half. In respect to the sending off that’s blatant cheating and was a ridiculous decision.

Look at the penalty, Stevens got his arms round him. Definate penalty. If that had gone to VAR it would have been a penalty. You're clearly a Vale fan on the wind up but I'll entertain you for 5 minutes. Stevens doesn't have his arms around him. Stevens momentarily ball watches and loses his man. He realises this and grabs at his man as he goes passed him. This grab lasts for less than a second and doesn't affect the player getting to the ball. He then let's go. The player then does the worst header I have seen in my life (Justin Whittle included) and nearly puts it out for a throw. Was the grab by Stevens lawful. No. Was it a penalty, technically yes, but if you are giving grabs like that then you are in for long night of penalties. One off every single corner. But he didn't give anymore did he? Despite there being numerous identical infringements. That's the real problem. If you give them, you give them all. If you don't then you are automatically a poor referee. To corroborate the assessment of him being a poor referee we can then move to yellow cards for pulls. He gives 2 in quick succession against us, but then gives none against QPR for identical. Poor inconsistent referring. We then have the second yellow incident. Never a foul, let alone a red. Poor referring. Blatant corner to us 1st half he gives as a goal kick. Poor referring. Foul on Vidigal (first half) push in the back after he gets to ball 1st. No foul. The subsequent play leads to the penalty. Poor referring. Various other poor decisions made. You literally have no chance of winning a game when the referee is that poor. We weren't brilliant but I think we comfortably win that game with a decent, unbiased referee. Final point. He has sent off 4 Stoke players in 9 games refereed. That's a pretty odd stat. Further evidence of a poor, biased referee. Back to the Vale forum for you. Thanks

The club as a whole are too soft on Referee's, Pulis would never have stood for the crap we are having to deal with. The players must feel like the management team aren't fighting their corner not challenging some of the decisions going against us and it's been going on way too long.

Dire ref, but dire substitutions by us. Yes, the ref was appalling, particularly the two decisions regarding the pen and the 2nd yellow, but could also be argued for a so called "experienced player" in Stevens, he was not streetwise at all. Also, our game management was so negative and allowed QPR to push us further and further back, eventually leading us to capitulate. Add to that bringing on Johnson and Hoever, who between them offered nothing and were a liability, Hoever getting caught out with schoolboy errors and Johnson hardly bust a gut and wasted possession on the rare occasions we had it. At 2-1, I would have bought Thompson on at Left-Back in place of Bae, Laurent on for Mmaee and Leris for Campbell. I would have gone 4-3-1-1, packed the middle of the pitch with Pearson just behind Burger and Laurent with Vidi at the top of the diamond and Leris as a mobile focal point - maybe bringing on Wesley in last 10 for Vidi and dropping Leris to the top of diamond to add extra legs to a press on the halfway line. When in possession, instruction would simply be to play balls into the corners, press them backwards and set up in the middle of the pitch, squeezing the middle third and forcing them to punt long balls into Dykes with the midfield 3 sitting in to mop up any second balls. Send your CV into JC. You've more of a clue than the current fool that's for sure 👍

Would love to know exactly who we've pissed off at referee HQ to keep getting shafted consistently by shit decisions on the regular.
Did they get their first booking on 85 mins last night. Shambles of a performance and something needs doing.
Last night's pen was soft in my opinion but I also give the shirt pull on Wes at Norwich. Norwich fab at work even says they got lucky with it not being given.
We're being officiated to a different standard.

Yes , the ref for the QPR match was poor.
But AN has not had a poor ref for 60 games in a row .
Short term, with the players we have, the only way we stop throwing games away, is either , the current manager starts behaving a lot more professionally .
Or we get in a better manager.

Just seen the sending off and he grabbed him then let go and then he went on before throwing himself to the ground. The pull had zero impact to him throwing himself to the floor. Rash by Stevens but very, very harsh. Thought the ref was terrible and incredibly one sided. Totally inconsistent in giving free kicks against us and literally the same challenges by them weren’t given. Thought the third was the sort of challenge that would be 9 times out of 10 given as a foul. There are times it feels like it’s me but it’s like most weeks I feel like I’m saying the same thing. It’s definately the exception when it feels like we’ve had a good one. I’d say this season we’ve had maybe 5 decent refs but some have been shocking. They committed 12 fouls, us 11, we got 5 yellows and one red, they got one yellow. Not a bad tackle in the game. Make it make sense someone. Actually they got 2 yellows, he booked Begovic towards the end ,his crime?, he used to play for Stoke.

People are complaining about the standard of refereeing in the Premier League, not to mention Var. Why would anyone expect good reffing in the Championahip? Anyway, I'm sick of excuses, no doubt we would have found a way to lose the game even if the ref had given us 4 penalties. The table doesn't lie and results and performances have been awful. Even in the 3 game run we had a lot of luck in the first 2 games. At Middlesboro we actually dominated the game and deserved the victory. It left me thinking that we got a bit of luck, but the results have given the players confidence and the Middlesboro result shows that we have turned a corner. How wrong can one be? A lot of people here are codding themselves. Do the players he has look any fitter than the ones he inherited? "They need time to gel", Is that a good reason for players to take the first week off in the earlier International break and to go on holiday during the second one. Wake up, you are being conned with the bullshit you are being fed.

Lets all blame the ref again. He was not great but had a better game than every one of the Stoke team except perhaps Bonham. We are a very poor team how many times did we give the ball away fail to defend the line, pass to a QPR player. If i gave the ref 2 i would give ever Stoke player a 1 we are embarrassing, led by a turd played shit and all we do is blame someone else. No we are a shit team at the moment. I'm not We got what we deserved although how he gave 5 yellows early on am not sure and missed the obvious one
