Did anyone on here ever get to fly on this aircraft, If so,what was it like?. Sadly not. But I went to see the one a Manchester airport a few times. Beautiful thing in the flesh. Would have loved to have had the opportunity to fly in one of them. Not that one in Paris though 😬

Not very roomy inside by all accounts.
I must admit, the idea of arriving in NY before you left London always appealed!

A Concorde flew over St Andrews in 1987 during the Birmingham v Stoke match. That’s about as good as my afternoon got that day.

Watched it take off once, incredible just how little runway it needs. Amazing sight.

I never actually went on board but I worked on the project to get it flying again after the Paris crash, and also with British Airways and Air France up till it eventually stopped flying.

There is one at the Fleet Air Arm museum in Yeovil way. We went there once. The Museum itself is great as a militatry type museum
You could go on the concorde there. Tiny inside not much room but three hours to get to new york drinking champagne you wouldnt really care

I've only ever seen one. I was driving a truck through the north of Bristol and one took off nearby. It was a long time ago and I think they were still going through the testing procedures before production. It was like a work of art at the time... a thing of beauty.
OS.

Went on one once for a walk around but never got to fly unfortunately, surprisingly unimpressive inside I thought considering the hype.
My mother-in-law worked for BA for about 30 years and did dozens/hundreds of Concorde flights including one time at Heathrow when everyone had to leg it off the plane as it the engine caught fire as it landed, not that long before the major incidents that led to them being grounded............

I’ve been on three different Concordes. One at RNAS Yeovilton One at Filton, near Bristol One at East Fortune Airfield in East Lothian. Never flown in one though 🙁 And, as others have said, it’s surprisingly small inside. A beautiful beast though. And there’s one rusting away on the tarmac at Heathrow Airport. For those who are interested, this might be an interesting read about the (overloaded) Concorde which crashed at Paris. Investigation

I never flew on it. Saw one fly over me very low when I lived in Newport, South Wales in the early 70s - amazing sight.
Had a French colleague who flew on it regularly, paid for by his business expense account - but when the company changed hands the new owners put a stop to that!
Thanks for the link to the crash investigation, I've always wondered whether all the truth has come out as to why the plane was taken out of service. This is just a thought - not a conspiracy theory!

Not flown on it, but recall the frequent sonic booms when it went along the south coast. Been inside the one at Manchester when I attended the venue as a conference.
Super aircraft that would have gone on a little longer were it not for the cock ups in Paris.

seen it a few times at Liverpool ( there was about 20 wasn’t there )
In 1988 - Concorde at Speke Airport, Liverpool, Saturday April 9, 1988, ahead of the 150th anniversary of the first Grand National. The Liverpool Echo brought two Concords into Liverpool to give the airport a record boost, flying the most passengers on the big bird in one weekend. One Thousand readers bought seats to sample of Concorde experience - I went Oldham instead ( lost 5-1 )

BA and AF had 7 each. I never went on an actual aircraft but I did go in the simulator at Filton after one of the meetings with the engineers and some of the pilots.

I went on a school trip to the factory at Weybridge, Surrey, to see them being built. There were several in different phases of construction, we were allowed on board some half completed ones, absolutely millions of wires inside the walls and roof. Yeah, they were very compact inside.
Brilliant unforgettable school trip, dozens of thirteen year old boys too overawed to misbehave.

My unforgettable school trip was to go on a big red bus from school in Chesterton to 'Castle to see the film of the queen's coronation at the pictures. One of earliest memories.

I remember the last commercial flight a Concorde flew into Manchester, that day I was working in Northwich which was on the flight path. People were literally on roofs of office buildings and lining streets looking to the sky as it flew over. A truly amazing aeroplane that captured the imagination of just about everyone.
