I put this on another forum so i'll c+p here
This is basically when people are adamant something happened mostly in the past but sometimes in the present that never ever happened , it's called this because some people think that Mandela died in prison in the 80s hence the Mandela effect
To give another example , Rich uncle pennybags also known as the monopoly man people say ,no sware , he wore a monocle when infact he didn't
Yesterday i bought some Blue Ribands the tasty snack , i say to the wife i've bought Blue Ribands she says , no , don't you mean Blue Ribbons , you see , the mandela effect , she thought for years and years they were called Blue Ribbons , she looked it up and it is indeed a Mandela effect where thousands of people thought Blue Ribands were Blue Ribbons
Has anybody else experienced this ?

Henry the mild mannered janitor No...his name was Penry Hitker refused to shake hands with Jesse Owens Hitler refused to shake hands with all non German winners. In fact Jesse Owens himself said that Hitler gave him a nod of appreciation and the White House made him enter through the back kitchen for the reception in returning home

I can think of a few Stoke-related ones but they may be best avoided...

Do people think Mandela died in prison?
I thought the primary reason he was famous was that he was released, took a long walk, met the Spice Girls and, became President of post-Apartheid South Africa.

Most of us know the ins and outs with what happened with Mandela but SOME people are convinced he died in prison. i've not met anybody who thought this though

its more often applied too films and tv and lines people swear are in there but actually are embellished
Dath Vader does not say Luke, I am your father, he says, no, i am your father

Yes, I have experienced it.
I have an extremely vivid memory of not the day the music died, but the day that Don McLean died.
It was a Friday and I was in my third year at university in Liverpool. I watched them discuss it on the news in the morning.
We went out that night and every bar played American Pie and I sang it with my mates and strangers.
This wasn't a dream, I am absolutely convinced it happened and I lived that day.
Several years later I found out that Don McLean is still in fact alive.

Just experienced this last week. Was having breakfast with a buddy on Veteran's Day at a local restaurant over here and mentioned I remembered playing a color version of Mario Brothers 2 on a handheld Nintendo thingy back in the 80's (a shipmate had brought it onto the ship--not sure how we got on the subject of video games in the first place, but...) Anyway, he argued it had to have been the NES console because color handhelds weren't a thing back in the 80's. I was adamant about it, but he was right of course. My brain remembers it differently. Weird effect this Mandela thing.

The only logical explanation is your ship ripped through the fabric or reality and temporarily entered a time slip Or you were drunk

The long walk to Freedom was possibly the most misleading film title ever
Was about 20 yards
