Do we embrace the new cultures in football enough? Example every team in Europe, Crystal Palace and Scotland plus many semi pro teams have their "ultras", with large flags ,banners ,drums(I know drums) standing areas etc etc At the moment I see us firmly in the keep football traditional category which fits into the cities thinking as a whole as we dont seem to like any change, and mock it when it happens, only to be dragged kicking and screaming into the present/future. Or do you think it is just a passing phase?

We've got a fucking lightshow!
Standing area would be great. As for some tit stood on a stepladder with a megaphone, leave it to the Europeans.
The best reaction I heard to a drummer was at Blackburn when we were singing 'Peedo, bang your drum, peedo peedo bang your drum'. He soon shut up.

I think we’re fine in this area. ‘Ultras’ are traditionally a hooligan element and, if they’re not that now, then that’s where their roots are. We have a family stand, Fanzone in the pipeline, light shows 😁 and various other initiatives that could be associated with ‘Modern Football’. I think that if you’re judging Ultras and drums as modern football, then you’re a bit off the mark.

I remember the Ultras at Lazio going to see them , were a hooligan element in a certain section of the ground.
Too many react as if all old football was great, of course it wasn't.

Banners, standing areas, light shows etc I'm all for but the day Stoke allow some prick to bang a drum for 90 minutes is the day I stop going.

The light show was excellent. I noticed the positive response from other clubs and the looks on faces. Think it surprised a few who were perhaps poised, ready to criticise.
No drums, agree above, goal music...leave the circus stuff to boxing these days
Still no foam fingers though which is showing our lack of forward thinking there
The fan zone many wanted and they delivered. Looks a good idea

Pink panthers, silk scarves, the Amigos, 3.15pm kick offs, etc.
Our club has been involved in some trendy ideas over the years. There are probably loads more.
If every club did exactly the same thing, the world would be a much more boring place.

Man United have by far and away the best away fans and always have new songs. Never need some cringe ‘ultra’ element to it.

Hooligan element for sure , often with a political stance as well. In some clubs the “Ultras” are a very unsavoury and influential force that terrorises the club. Would hate to see that at Stoke.

Almost like the Houses of Parliament in 1605: That looks absolutely shite. Even Arsenal have an 'ultras' section. A bunch of fat muppets in black T-shirts, exactly the same as every other 'ultras' section.

The attachment to hooligans in the UK version is not true. Crewe have "ultras" and what I mean by ultra is large flags (remember we had one once) standing, singing and just a festival sort of atmosphere, that is what it is in the UK. Aberdeen have been doing it for a while along with many Scottish and many smaller English clubs, with no trouble whatsoever. Liverpool looks fantastic when they have all their flags and banners out.

Harsh on Muppets comparing them to that lot I see Celtic have banned the Green Brigade, cancelled the season tickets, and covered the seats over. Did it before the Council shut the ground down.

Been ongoing issues with stewards and some already banned supporters attending games. Pretty sure they were already banned from away European games but still attending

Why don’t you get yourself a big black flag if you want one so much? Has something I wrote in this post upset you? 😂 I think you’re the one who is upset mate. I said when they want to be and when they’ve got something to sing about. Have you been to many matches in the past 15 years? Whilst it might have died down we have had a pretty fantastic reputation for atmosphere home and away. Despite our woes on the pitch we are supported away magnificently. So you’re just looking like you want to stick the boot in or stick a flag up you’re arse. A Stoke City ultras section would be absolutely dreadful. It’s not who we are and it’s cringe, southern bollocks. End of. All for an organic singing section and as I said previously, the best away fans don’t need the gimmick.
