I don't think there will be many signings in January, just a GK and a CB. I think we have enough cover at LB to get by until the summer and I don't see us bringing in another striker. Baker and Campbell may be offloaded

I’d sell sell Wilmot in a heartbeat. If we can get our money back we’ve done well. I think we all know that by now Bayern.

A number one, an experienced centre half and a young left back. We need an aggressive goalscorer to lead the line. they’re about 10mil a go

Also keen to see what Baker can offer in this new look side and if he buys into or can even do this high energy pressing game because if he's not that type he needs to be moved on I think there might be space for Baker but it’s a hell of a gamble. There is a spot for him in the diamond that AN has played on a couple of occasions.

Toffolo isn’t coming in to understudy Stevens any time soon. Is Clarke on a 6 month loan? I guess Neil could go back in for the left footed Davies at Rangers. Keeper is crucial but is January the best time to sign one? Can only really be a loan I think. Get Tezgel fit and we have enough in the striker pool for how we’re looking to play especially if and when Campbell returns who it seems a few have forgotten about. Clark isn't on loan, he was without a club, he has a contract till end of the season Rangers and Davies turned Stoke down, we didn't have the money to turn that into a deal not even on loan If Baker leaves that should free up money for someone like Davies Agree re Tezgel, perhaps we should forget about Campbell? Good point. Has there been anymore about campbells contract? I’m not sure where he fits in the team now? He doesn’t protect Hoever enough to play RW. So that’s LW? With Haks and Vidigal. Could he be an option up front in our new looks side?

It suggests to me we have a very healthy budget but I hope we stick to our valuations and not get stupid. Aprox £2m? More like £10/15M depending on what the wage situation looks like. Assuming the owners are happy to make a loss circa £13M which I think that’s what John C implies when he says they’ll invest what they’re allowed to. I don’t know how close we are to wages being limited to 70% of income and whether that would be as well as or instead of £39M cumulative losses over 3 years . We can shed a couple more big wages in the Summer with very little detriment to us on the field. Very little information available as to what the Summer signings are earning though you’d think quite a few of them would be on modest wages.

We got £15m for Souttar and £5m for Brown and have spent about £10m out of that, so at least £10m left.

If we can bring in a first choice goalkeeper and left back, then I think that we can really push on.
I would say a first choice central defender as well but changing 3/5 defensive positions will put us straight back to square one. Ultimately, a defensive partnership needs time to grow. We do need at least one more central defender but if Rose and McNally do start to gel, it may be less urgent to replace one of them directly.

Top of the list; 1. A dominant leader at centre back 2. An aggressive goalscorer at centre forward. We now need to add; 3. A top notch goalkeeper. It would be nice to have; 4. A young left footed left back to shadow and eventually make the role his own. Don’t think we can afford all that Two loans and one cash signing is my guess 1. Keeper 2. CB 3. CF In that priority of order. A left footed LB would be a cherry on the cake

I would try move Campbell on, or am I being controversial with this one and replace him, with another up and coming prospect I'd actually forgotten about him.

I’d like us to try and get Travers on a permanent. An experienced CB whose legs haven’t gone even if it was somebody from the prem that will drop down due to a lack of playing time. I’d like a longer term solution to the left back position. Somebody to learn from Stevens.
Otherwise I think we are set.
I’d like to see if Baker and Campbell have a future before Jan but if not I’d be looking to get rid. I think both would benefit from a slight more mobile forward line which we now have.

A couple of questions; 1 - When you were abstaining from using this board yesterday, did you need medication for your 'cold-turkey'? 2 - Where did you go trainspotting? I think he said he was at The Vale👀
