Pete Smith reporting Wilmot expected to be out for around 3 months, if we didn't have bad luck we would have none at all.

I don't understand why AN is happy to publicly come out and state this on Wilmott but decides to go Radio Silent on a similar long term issue with Mmaee?
What differentiates between the two?
We've obviously known for a while that it's a longer term issue with Mmaee but we've never publicly addressed it or put a timeframe on it, yet we have with Wilmott??

But Wilmot seemed to be telling anyone who'd listen about it at the game on Saturday, so maybe they realised the info was already out there?

I'm sick and tired of the clever clogs cloak and dagger bullshit. Just tell us the rough area of the injury and the rough timescale.
All you get from him when questioned is some arsey, clever dick smirk and a refusal to answer the question properly like he's some kind of king sat in the Ivory Towers.

We really are cursed arn't we. Did we build the brit on an incident Indian burial ground or something.
Surely an extra 6 months on top now for Neil's tenure, you can't judge a manager that can't field a team. I think Coates should put speculation ( on here) to bed and offer Neil a new 3 year contract

I find it slightly incredulous that within an hour of hitting the post, he'd have been looked at by a doctor rubbing his chin and told there and then how long he'd be out for, then actually going back out and telling fans the timescale. What player has ever done that?!
If it's true, it is a terrible loss - not just because we now have just McNally and another crock loan CB, but also because Rose is currently the replacement when he's fit again. CB and LB must be top priority in the January window.

This is nothing compared to 18 months ago although not a competition.

Still can't for the life of me understand what he was playing at on Saturday with the players on the bench

Can't imagine Neil will have been too happy with his candidness, but maybe he should take a leaf out of his player's book about how to engage with your fans, especially when the chips are down like now!

Still can't for the life of me understand what he was playing at on Saturday with the players on the bench What could we have done really? Considering our injuries, the scoreline is about half as much as I was expecting. He put hard workers in wide midfield to give some resistance to the tide. There was never a period where the pressure eased enough to bring on the likes of Haks or Vidigal. And if Vidi wasn't fit to come on, I'd rather he stayed on the bench because we have bigger fights where we'll need him.

Crazy idea but at 1-0 down v an understrength Leicester side who weren't firing and had left some big hitters on the bench, he could have thrown a bit of caution to the wind and had a go . Who sits on a 1-0 defeat? If Vidigal or anyone else wasn't fit, why are they on the bench? Why not bring the subs he did make in earlier rather than settle for a defeat? There was little pressure, they had all the ball but created little. Instead he let them win the game at a canter and took on subs when it was too late. Why bother making them at all then? As for the scoreline ..who settles for a defeat that isn't as bad as expected as you put it ? You and Neil obviously There was a period to brink in Haks and Vidigal...on say 80 mins when we were still in it as until then we had managed 1 shot on target all game ...

This day and age clubs do everything for players , training, diet etc. Why the hell do they let them go out and play without proper shin pads, not those small useless things you see them wearing. A proper shin pad could have saved this injury to Wilmot. Same with boots, some company come out with a new boot , players wear them as they are getting paid, do clubs ever check if they are suitable . The number of foot injuries you see these days makes you think.

The number of foot injuries you see these days makes you think. Modern boots and shin pads don't offer any protection whatsoever I agree. The size of modern shin pads leaves the lower leg and ankle completely exposed. All they do, and presumably are designed to do, is to protect the middle of shin most likely to cause serious injury. And then you look at Wilmot now. With the amount of technical material technology available to the biggest sports brands, you'd think they could produce a match day sock that prevents serious injury from some snide tackle from behind where we see someone's Achilles cut to ribbons.

No wonder Clarke has come in. Clearly wouldn't have if Wilmott was fit.

You know if i was a Stoke youngster playing in the under 21 seeing that we are now playing midfield players at CH and bringing in old property unfit players on loan I'd probably think I HAVE NO FUTURE HERE and walk away,if i can't get in the team now I never will Surely a young player playing in his regular position has got to be better than what we are doing now

I think Coates should put speculation ( on here) to bed and offer Neil a new 3 year contract Stoke Chairman John Coates gives Manager Alex Neil the Board's vote of confidence, saying that there are no plans to make a managerial change. Meanwhile City are reported to be in talks with former Stoke player, and recently Birmingham Manager, John Eustace, about taking over the same position at Stoke!

I don't know why the club didn't announce it as its been common knowledge for a week Have to agree with this,it drives me insane at pressers when he won’t give up injury news and I should imagine it does the same to press asking the questions.I understand not giving opposition the heads up but when it comes to players out for weeks/months it’s utterly pointless and also very very frustrating
