It’s 50 miles up the road, I know that we do take good followings to away games which are not far away. But, wait until we play Plymouth/Sunderland… we will take 1500 maximum.

Still good for this crap we have to sit through I agree. Anyone who spends their hard earned money on going to watch stoke away at this moment in time I take my hat off to. My point is that our away support is great for pretty local games… once it’s touching a 400 mile round trip, 1500 of them disappear.

If we are top six and up there challenging we are pretty much selling out whoever we are playing. Yes Leicester isn't the furthest trip but the fact we sold out is a credit to our fans given how shit we are currently.

I’m not being funny mate but at the moment turning left instead of right at the end of the street to go and watch that shite is a BIG ask.

Good numbers but I didn’t like the gallows humour about losing the ball/ we’ve got the ball. This was a tough game with a depleted squad, it just didn’t feel like the right time to take the piss out of our own players.
Also, i really don’t like the snidey chanting about Vardy’s missus. It’s almost like we are inviting the oppositions players to up their game and score against us. Very small time in my opinion.

We've been shit for seasons now. There's not many that travel away that have any realistic hope of us nicking a point never mind a win. Its top support in my eyes

Does anyone really go away for the football anymore, I just look at it as day out drinking with my mates now. Not that bothered about the result.

It's mostly 'blind faith' and probably, for some, a liking for pint or 3. Anyway I applaud them👏👏

My point is that our away support is great for pretty local games… once it’s touching a 400 mile round trip, 1500 of them disappear. This is very typical of loads of football clubs though, nothing about it is unique to Stoke. And there is also absolutely nothing wrong with it anyway. Majority of people who do the very long away trips are single men in their 20s and early 30s, or older men with grown-up children. You really can't expect people with young families to give up basically the entirety of their Saturdays - getting up before dawn and not getting in after the kids are already in bed - to a football match. We are also deep into the most protracted cost of living crisis since the 2008 financial crash.
