I'm surprised Potter isn't anywhere in those odds. I’ve seen him mentioned a couple of times in reports

I work with 3 of them and broke it to 2 of them. It was like I’d told them their Gran had died 🤣 the other one flat out refused to talk about it. I’m surprised you haven’t mentioned he made them worse😉 👏👏👏

Would love it, absolutely love it, if Alex Neil took over.
If carlsberg did new manager appointments.

The finest manager of the last ten years. The game will miss him for sure. Obviously opposition fans and managers won’t. I feel like there is more to this story though Agreed. I’m guessing his health. Or someone close. Hope it’s not that but he’s only 56 so something more must be behind it. I'm not convinced there is anything going on behind the scenes. Klopp comes across as a very straightforward guy and if he says he's losing his energy I believe him. The vast majority of managers end their time at a club on a sour note - he'll be one of the very few managers to leave with his reputation untarnished. If he feels he's hit the heights his decision to leave shows a rare degree of self awareness and an ego under the control of it's owner. One of the game's greats stepping down with dignity. I've disagreed with some of his antics but fair play to him.

England? Can't see him taking another English club Don’t see Real Madrid or Barcelona allowing him anything like the control he gets at Liverpool Bayern, maybe but again less control and he instantly pisses off his beloved Dortmund supporters - although plenty of players and coaches have gone from one to the other - Germany and England jobs will probably be up in the summer He might fancy staying here and managing that squad? If Klopp becomes the next England manager after this years Euros when Southgate leaves, England win the World Cup in 2026 - no doubt about that. I wonder if the challenge of adding a World Cup to his champions league, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup medals would be the bit in between his teeth to get going again. All that would be an amazing haul & achievement. He would only be in the pressure cooker of when England play and not on a daily / weekly basis that he is with Liverpool

If he says he's running out of energy, I'm inclined to believe him.
He's 56 now, and will be 57 at the start of next season. Let's be honest, a lot of people get tired in their late-50s/early-60s but carry on simply because they have no choice but to keep on working until they get their state pension. Klopp is just in the very lucky position of being wealthy enough to be able to leave work on his own terms.
I'm sure he'll be back one day, there is a long history of managers trying to retire but constantly getting the itch to come back: Hodgson and Warnock the most obvious examples in England. But I wouldn't be surprised to see him take a sabbatical from management.
Maybe he'd take an international job if offered one, just because that doesn't involve coaching day-in-day out like club management does; maybe the opportunity to try something new and to compete for international trophies would capture his motivation again if he is getting a bit knackered with the club game too. But I'd be vaguely surprised to see him take a club job this summer.

Such a sad loss to the game if he’s done for good. Such a refreshing mindset about the game. The game could be so much better if it was populated by more anti pragmatists like him.

I'm surprised Potter isn't anywhere in those odds. Has Potter done anything to deserve to make the list? I’m not convinced. Gerrard wouldn't be on the list if he wasn't a former player and Potter was appointed to Chelsea because of his previous success everywhere. I doubt Chelsea has done anything to harm his reputation, and he was being talked about as the next Man Utd manager a few weeks ago.

I doubt Chelsea has done anything to harm his reputation, and he was being talked about as the next Man Utd manager a few weeks ago. Potter did well in his first job 51% games won and a few trophies, but in the English league he hasn’t achieved all that much, win % of 41, 31, and 38. I think his stock has fallen both by what happened at Chelsea, but also how Brighton haven’t missed him. Don’t get me wrong, I like Potter as a manager and I think he will get another PL job before too long, but I’d be surprised if it’s at one of the top clubs. Gerrard I can understand given his record as a player there, although it would be a wild move to make him manager.

He’s a bit of a lefty so may be after a political career. Doesn’t like Brexit so happy to support the bankrupt, corrupt countries like Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Ireland - and maybe SNP in Scotland as a change from Liverpool. 😂😂😂😂😂

A genuinely excellent manager and Liverpool will be lucky to effectively replace him, I reckon. Hopefully he will be back managing in the English game sometime in the future, he's entertaining and intelligent with it. He's a big personality and has heart. Football benefits from individuals like him in its ranks.

I think he would be brilliant for Germany manager, much less to do compared to club manager and he stays in the game.
