Attachment DeletedAnyone remember this home kit as sported by Big John Ritchie. I remember seeing it but it only seemed to be used for a short time and if I remember it was for a specific purpose but I can't remember exactly what.

No, I have been watching since the mid 60's but have no recollection of that one.

It was an experimental ‘winter’ kit worn for one season, with mainly dark red and thin white stripes. It was supposed to be more visible against snowy pitches and in snow or fog.

I remember seeing it at home but as I said it was not a regular kit and disappeared as fast as it surfaced.

Was it an early Macron effort?

it was a horrible looking kit. But back in the day nobody wore replica strips. It was all rosettes scarves and rattles.

Just type in ‘Stoke City shirt’ and it’ll come up. 35 quid they are asking. I’ve never seen an original though tbh.

Think they mean to say winter weather kit, not warm weather kit. That site quotes some programme notes which appear to confirm it was a warm weather shirt rather than a winter version: Makes more sense as well, do we really think the stout gents of 1960s North Staffordshire were complaining because of the cold??
