I think it's 1999 at Wigans old ground/tip
Although we might have done it at Scunthorpe under the promotion season?

I think it's 1999 at Wigans old ground/tip Although we might have done it at Scunthorpe under the promotion season? Wigan away under Brian Little was my first thought. Thorne pulled one back, Kav ran from the halfway line to equalise then Greg Strong got the winner. Just checked the Scunthorpe away game in 2007/08 and we went one up, then 2-1 down, then 3-2 in the last few minutes.

That match at Wigan was played at the same ko time as England v Poland at Wembley in Kevin Keegans first match as England manager
England 3 Poland 1 with a Paul Scholes hat trick

Well, got that smashed in London that I didn't turn up until half-time and can remember very little about being there

To go one better Stoke recovered from a 3 goal half time deficit to win 3-4 at Upton Park in 1967.

I remember that Wigan game and the absolute mental when Strong scored the winner. Didn't we have him on loan from Wigan aswell? Apologies if it's already been asked I've not read the whole thread just bits. Springfield park was an absolute shithole wasn't it aswell and funnily enough I remember the Kav mazy run and goal which was brilliant and my goal of the season that year.

I remember him getting stick from the Wigan fans during the game and that was the reason. No I only recall him playing that game for us myself though he probably played more than that.

It had its charm with the terrace + grassy bank. Wouldn't be much fun in the winter though. We scored some good goals at that end - Kav's run from the halfway line, Beeston not bothering to run and just shooting from the halfway line...

What a goal from Beeston btw, brilliant 👏

Crowey wasn't it? Certainly was mate. Down the far end, he went clean through in the 90th minute. Bang, one of the great mentals! For the first hour we’d been 2nd best all over the park, but Crowey and Kav somehow dug us out

That season promised so much but delivered fuck all and was so typical of Stoke.

The first time we played well we lost 3-1 at home to Blackpool! All down hill after that As you say, typical Stoke ☹️

The first time we played well we lost 3-1 at home to Blackpool! All down hill after that As you say, typical Stoke ☹️ We actually won the first six mate with the final win of the six coming against a certain Mark Stein's Bournemouth at home in a two nil win. I'm sure Steino missed a sitter in front of the Boothen end aswell. We then lost to Fulham away then won the next two games but after that it was hit and miss until the wheels really fell off in the second half of the season. I did have to check some of that mate as my memory isn't that good but I remember alot of that season due to it being such a let down. You look at some of the teams in our division that year and the different paths they took and it is scary. I mean you have Man city who now are arguably the best team in the world and then on the other end of the scale Macclesfield Town who slid down the league's. I know it's still a fairly long time ago but alot has happened in the football world since then.

It does seem an awful long time Bayern but without checking I dare say it may be quite normal. I mean if a home side go two goals up it is not very often an away side will pull it back and then go on to win is it? I may be completely wrong of course and we are just turd 😭
