What the banks won’t tell you The only 100 % guaranteed way of not being a victim of online fraud Is not to bank online That's like saying what the car salesman won't tell you The only 100% guaranteed way of not being a victim of car theft Is to not have a car. Just backward thinking. Backwards maybe But true Why is there such a rush to remove cash from society Our convenience or their control ?

The fuckers won't barter with me either. Last home game I took a roll of cloth that we've been weaving for months and tried to swap it for a hot chocolate and a red Oasis. The cunt behind the counter looked at me as if I was mad. Problem is your underselling your commodity mate - for that I would expect the above plus a pie at least, probably some chips too - shame the chips in the ground are a bit crap though! On a more serious note, cash is dying out, people are using it for less and less due to wages now pretty much exclusively being paid into an account, charges on withdrawing cash from the hole in the wall and even small businesses now having card readers which don't incur charges from the bank to either the business or the punter! The big problem is that certain groups of people, such as the elderly, those on the breadline, and those who work cash in hand jobs such as the gig economy are being left behind by a system that unless you are educated on it or grow up with it, is something you are going to struggle to comprehend, especially with all the jargon these banks use. The even weirder thing though is that the Burger vans and programme sellers outside the ground tend to take cash only, so my personal preference would be (and any expense the club incurs by doing this would be more than recouped surely by the extra revenue) that all sellers associated with the club, both outside and inside, take both forms of payment - it is a business and ALL forms of giro are good right?

Could it help the obesity crisis that kids can't buy the overpriced uber processed shite on offer? By stopping these poor waifs we could indirectly be saving them from a life ruined by diabetes, heart disease and even cancer. As for pensioners, fuck them.

The last time I went, I offered to trim the same counter-cock's hedge every other week during the growing season along with a monthly full valet of his 1988 Fiat Panda...now tell me who's the mad fucker for knocking back an offer like that?

Is everyone happy with card only in the ground it is discrimination to people that haven't got one or other method of payment like me and the club is losing out one review 🤔 I wont spend a penny in the ground always give it to the smaller traders. Home and away. And yes its bollocks mate. Example how do the youngsters get on if they go the game with mates?

How are these people surviving the other 6 days of the week? It's a wonder they can get their head round the season cards. If the club had anything about them they'd print paper booklets and let them hand them over to a dedicated old turnstyle.

Because it's too expensive, mainly the costs of depositing the stuff in a bank, and the costs of additional controls to prevent theft.

99.8% of the population (15yrs +) have a bank account and therefore access to a debit card. Anyone under 15 is obviously financially dependent on an adult and so have access to that debit card.
How the hell does anyone live in today's society without a bank card? If you work, you have to have one and if you claim benefits or the state pension it is surely easier to get a bank account, rather than traipsing to the post office every week?!

Tell me about it. Last game, I only wanted full quarts of ale, a warm bowl of pottage and a bench by fire. My coin pouch was apparently no good. The alewife suggested I renumerate her with my pocket watch. Unfortunately I had left it on the wagon with my steed and my armaments. I shall be taking it up with The Alderman at Beltane.

But ask them to set up an executor bank account and they really struggle with that.

I've given in like a sheep on this one embarrassingly.
I rarely use cash now, even though I know the government want us cashless so they can watch every penny we spend and where it goes amongst other things. It's just too convenient to keep tapping away, especially at the bar.
I'm fairly certain they can't refuse cash if you desperately wanted to make a point though. It can't be classed as theft lawfully if you're leaving the money. Personally I think this one is a losing battle.
