www.expressandstar.com/2008/06/25/oneill-to-hold-talks-with-spurs-keeper/Meanwhile, Sorensen could yet remain in the region with Stoke believed to be tracking the Dane along with Hull, another side preparing for their first season in the Barclays Premier League.
However, it is believed any move for the former Sunderland keeper would hinge on him being guaranteed the number one jersey.

A good keeper imo, he would be a good signing.
And I can't see him going Hull as surely Myhill will be number 1 there?

On a Bosman, so he could save us a bit of cash.
Assuming he's still competent.
His star seems to have waned a bit since he was really rated at S'land?

Nash we can live without and I'd say Sorenson was better than Fulop.

Id say get both... Fullop and Sorenson

I hope not. He's a walking mistake which is why O'Neill doesn't entertain him. He is a poor keeper.

Not a bad keeper. He was linked with Barnsley when they had a keeper crisis (eventually going for Luke Steele).
If a deal for Fulop fell through I could live with Tommy S being number one.
Like you say FM, at Sunderland he could do nothing wrong and seemed to start life at Villa fairly well. However, in the past couple of years he seems to have lost his way- prompting the signing of Carson.
By the way, Hull seem to be linked to loads of keepers- they can't rate Myhill as highly as some of the national media do.

On a Bosman, so he could save us a bit of cash If he is a Bosman then his wages and signing on fee will most likely amount to the money we would save on a transfer fee...

A little side line, Villa are after Brad Guzan from the States who is meant to be a very good goalkeeper- for £2-2.5 million could we steal him from under their noses?!

He's played in the premiership before so i think we should offer him a year, see how he does.

What about Basso from Bristol City??????

Basso is a good call imo.

Basso is now 33. It is quite an old age to give a keeper their first break at the highest level.
That said, a goalkeeper's career generally lasts a few years more than that of an outfield player.
Not sure how willing Bristol City would be to let him go?

I would persist with Fulop, however, if that doesnt work out then Sorensen would be a great signing. An international keeper who has experienced Premier League football, prone to a few mistakes though, but then which keeper isn't?, if this rumour is somewhat true, I'd love to see Sorensen come in. Tell me, Is there any player that Hull aren't tracking? perhaps they will want Ronaldinho next. They are like that annoying wasp that you can never get ready of.

Yes, he is 33 and before Bristol he was at two hotbeds of English football- St Albans City and Woking!

Don't get me wrong Bayern, the religious one is a bloody good keeper and was a major reason why BC did so well last season

www.expressandstar.com/2008/07/01/villa-closer-to-robbo-swoop/As the Robinson deal moves closer, released Villa keeper Thomas Sorensen his declared his desire to prove himself in England again. Sources close to Sorensen say he could end up at Stoke or Hull, where he believes he can be their No 1.
He said: “Of course the situation is unsatisfactory, and I think that it’s an annoying position I’ve ended up in.
“I now hope I can quickly find a new club that matches my ambitions. A club in the Danish league does not come into my thoughts.
“On the other hand, a club in England would be the right move – but it hasn’t yet fallen into place.”

That means he could come as well as Fulop then? Perhaps the end of the Nash deal?

I could only see us signing Sorensen if the Fulop deal fall's through .

I've seen him play a lot of times and he has never impressed me! Seems to be a keeper that keeps doing big mistakes, please stay away from this one! Simmo is much better in my opinion.

Good call for a back up if the Fulop deal falls through though, only 32, still a few years left on him, and despite loss of form, still could be one of the better keepers from the prem.
Is he the keeper who allowed a throw in to roll under his foot into the goal against Brum a few years back?
Unlucky ;D
