Injured neck. Fast movement during the night. Thought it was a burglery again, so I changed sides in 0.1 seconds in bed. Aouucchh!!!
Went to the emergency at the big hospital on Thursday 7/9. They had surprisingly no orthopedist. Went to another emergency they recommended on Friday 8/9. 40 people in the queue, so they suggested an acute appointment at the Health clinic on Monday this week 11 Sep. They sent the message to the wrong clinic though. So on Monday my real Health clinic called me up and asked why I had changed Health clinic when I'd been with them for more than 20 years, which I hadn't, the emergency unit did.
I got an early appointment at my Health clinic on Monday 18 Sep, since they were on education on Thursday and Friday. In the meantime I should go to a physiotherapist, they said and they recommended their own. I went there, but they said "it's the same company, they should know we're going on the same education Thursday-Friday". However, they recommended another physiotherapist. So I was there already on Thursday. She gave me two small exercises. One where I shall move my chin 1-2 cm up and down slowly. She claimed I have a sort of whiplash and disc hernia on C2, C3. No pics taken.
It's my right side, neck, cheek, ear, throat, upper chest. Numbness, electrified pain attacks, cramps. Extremely tired and my head feels like it has just been shaken.
No actual ongoing pain.
I had disc hernia in my lower back 24 years ago (when they also discovered two more disc hernias), and that surgeon said: going to a physiotherapist and doing exercises when they had no idea where the exact injury is, is complete madness. I have had patients who should have avoided just that.
The same said the hand surgery before my carpal tunnel surgery.
Looking for a better pillow now online ...
Suggestions? Own experience?

Try a feather/down pillow or a latex one. Both should better mould to the shape of your head/neck.

Looking for a better pillow now online ... Suggestions? Own experience? Try a feather/down pillow or a latex one. Both should better mould to the shape of your head/neck. Going to the shop to find another ergonomic pillow now. Had a really bad night. I almost always sleeps on my front. Not that good with two pillows then. Tried one pillow this night, but it's to little when I'm on the side. I expect I have to have 2-3 pillows and change between them when I change sleeping position. Found a pillow called Derila (best in test) online, but decided not to buy it after all when reading the customer experience. I'll try Wellpur from the store Jysk. Both are latex based I suppose.

Try a feather/down pillow or a latex one. Both should better mould to the shape of your head/neck. I will return the ergonomic pillow named Wellpur Husnes from Jysk I bought. Yesterday I thought it was too late, but I actually bought it in the middle of September. I saw they have changed the receipt so it doesn't say you can change the item or get your money back within 30 days, now it only says you won't find the item cheaper anywhere else within 30 days. I hope she stick to their old policy she told me. I have kept the protection cover on when using it. I could change this too hard-pillow which gives me a headache, to two new pillows: one softer, cheaper ergonomic, which they had, and another with feathers.

I haven't been a bit better.
I have done exercises, but they haven't taken any MRI or MT scan pics yet, so it's hard to say if these are the appropriate exercises.

Parestesians from the neck to the throat, cheek and ear still on my right side. It's been a month now.
The electrified pain is lowered though.
New plan is exercises in their gym from next week. The physiotherapist asked if I wanted mobilisation practice level 1, where I move my neck slowly and she simultaneously pushes on the neck, joints and discs. I hesitated. I want to know what my doctor thinks first and preferably the ortopedic surgeon.
Anyone with neck problems now or in the past? Suggestions?

The outcome of an eventual surgery is this:
40% gets better to some degree or totally fine 20% experience no difference 20% get somewhat worse 15% get chronic pain or severe numbness 5% become partially or totally paralyzed or die
With these stats they don't recommend surgery as the first solution. You got to try physiotherapy first. And even then surgery requires a situation where you have severe constant pain.
Problem is though, if you get into such a situation, the damage is already so big an operation won't probably help 100%.

After the two first training sessions I got worse. After the third somewhat better perhaps. After the fourth time probably better since one muscle in my back seemed to have lost the spasm it had but I wasn't aware of. In turn the neck was affected to my advantage.
I will keep on doing the exercises at the gym. So far I've been backed up by three physiotherapists. Monday is the next appointment.
