Google...stoke city wages Capology
According to Capology , Jordan Thompson is on 4 grand a week Ben Pearson is on 8 grand a week
Mark Travers is on 20 grand a week Jack Bonham 3 grand ( 3500) a week
Okay , I am going a bit off topic, but the likes of Bonham and Thompson are decent squad players for us .
The days when we could afford begovic and Sorensen at the same time, are gone.
Travers wages imply Bonham's wages Pearson's wages imply Thompson's wages
I think both Thompson and Bonham are decent squad players for us and I can't see us signing much better, for a lot less .

Anyone want a bit of moan about Thompson, should bear in mind our highest paid midfielder is Etebo ( 30 k a week!)
And 4k a week JT , is a lot more use , than him .

Would be interested in the passing forward stats between the much praised Pearson & Thompson, I reckon Thompson plays more progressive passes than Pearson.

He is what he is.
A really solid squad player for a Championship side. Professional, does his job when called upon and you know what you're getting with him. Played really well yesterday and allowed Pearson to get some rest.

Can’t agree with Clive Clarke when he criticised him on P&G last night when he said he doesn’t pass the ball forward. Well I really believe he’s very much improving in that regard and is benefiting from AN’s coaching. Very solid game yesterday IMO.

Lack of mobility is definitely a real deficiency in Thompson's game. Yesterday he did nothing productive with the ball or his passing, but he was an excellent physical presence and his tackling was excellent. He is what he is, but as a squad backfiller who knows his place, you won't find much better. ? Have you seen the stats posted above? 91% pass completion, 100%long passes completed, 5 passes into the final third. For a defensive midfield player to me that is very impressive passing. Sorry, I didn't really explain what I meant. Yes, his passing output yesterday was good. He made the best out of the forward passes he made, but I'd like to see more from him. Only 8 of his 22 passes were towards goal. Am I being greedy? Maybe. But yesterday was one of his best games for us.

Not a Thompson fan, but what he did today was stop their No. 10 "playmaker" playing, and he did it so well they took the No. 10 off. He man marked him out of the game, leaving them to hit hopeful long balls through the channels for their pacey wide men. Thompson deserves massive praise for today and his part in the win Was the the Louza fella? I liked the look of him, really classy player

I like him, sure a squad player but does his job to the best of his ability and a good pro and team player.
The midfield was shocking at Ipswich and Pearson certainly looks well off the pace at the minute.
One area of the squad that is not good enough in my view but Tommo is certainly one who never lets us down.

He was decent yesterday, justified his selection and hopefully gave Pearson a kick up the arse.
