1. final fantasy games are just not that good
2. games are worse than ever these days with glitches and bugs, they used to be as perfect as could possibly be pre live patches!
lets have a good old moan!

1. final fantasy games are just not that good 2. games are worse than ever these days with glitches and bugs, they used to be as perfect as could possibly be pre live patches! lets have a good old moan! Agree with both of those. AAA games are an absolute bag of shite. People who buy the same regurgitated game every year (I’m looking at you CoD, Assassins Creed, FIFA, etc.) are morons. Special mention go to the cretins who buy micro transactions on these same games, only to buy the same thing year after year. Speaking of cretins, people who pre-order games without realising this gives developers an excuse to release half arsed, buggy shit.

First person shooters have always been overrated and are just not that good to play. Big part of me losing interest in playing games is the fact that a large % seem to be FPS nowadays.
COD is wank, multiplayer is the most boring type of game you can play, just die and respawn repeatedly, it's crap.
Warzone was brilliant, until they incorporated cold war and changed the map to 1985. it got me through lockdown but I've no interest in COD other than that my whole life.
Football games have regressed from the peak PES3 & 4 days. Graphics are better obviously but the gameplay is crap and they're just not fun to play like they were 18 years ago. They've just not progressed like other genres have with the new gen consoles.

Another one of mine is how blatant it is that mainstream review sites and popular YouTube game reviewers are all on the payroll. They give high scores for shit games, basically lying to their followers and wasting their money if they follow their advice.
This also has the effect of gamers either not finding good games because they haven’t slipped a reviewer a brown envelope for some coverage, or they purposefully score them lower than ones where they’ve been bought. Essentially people are being gate kept by a corrupt system.
You only have to see the discrepancies on metacritic between professional reviewers and gamers to see that you can’t trust what the professionals say.

I still game with a group of mates going on back to the original modern warfare. Unfortunately some have never pc graduated so it’s mostly cross play we end up on which then limits choice.

Ah I know the pain mate, all my mates are console noobs aswell. So they spend £500 & get 4k max settings at 60fps, pfft, they'll never understand the PC Master Race feeling of spending twice that just to play in 1080p at all lowest settings to get as much fps as possible

Much better variety of games at much cheaper prices, and even the big names are put on sale much quicker than on consoles. The best thing about it are the indie games which you simply don’t get on consoles, especially for how cheap they are.

What CPU you got it paired with? I'll assume that because you've gone with an Nvidia GPU you'll have had an Intel CPU, and a 3080 would be complete overkill for an i3/i5 so I'll again assume you've got at least an i7, maybe even an i9? i9 10900/11900/12900 or something? Man, when CS2 comes out you could go 1080p all lowest settings & get 500+ fps

The only downside to PC gaming is if you like playing the big AAA games that were released on console & the developers can't be arsed to do a proper PC version so you just get some dogshit port filled with bugs & crashes. (I'm looking at you, Red Dead Redemption 2!)

(I'm looking at you, Red Dead Redemption 2!) True, although to be honest I find most console AAA games repetitive and bloody awful anyway. I think RDR2 is about the only console game (from Xbox or PS) I’d consider playing now. Sometimes I have a go on the switch but that’s more for the kids, but Zelda was good. I much prefer PC gaming. As has been said on here, it’s no coincidence that you ‘graduate’ to a PC as you get older.

Over lockdown I moved back. I used to hammer battlefield 2 and black hawk down. Black hawk had some brilliant features which I have only recently seen added into shooters despite it being a 20 year old game.

(I'm looking at you, Red Dead Redemption 2!) I just restarted red dead on pc and it’s pretty much patched out all glitches now. I agree though I played the game five years ago on Xbox and it’s took almost that long for the pc port to be worth it. Surprising that they are all built on pc then again there are that many configurations to account for you can understand why the consoles take precedence as it’s basically just two rigs they are optimising for

I started playing PC games mid to late 90s so was around for the whole Quake, Doom, Duke Nukem, Half Life period. Also loved C&C and the Total Wars. Switched to console through late teens and mid 20s. Always had a PC or laptop but only started playing more on it during the last 5/6 years. I much prefer the variety of games available. I love talking about gaming, I find it so nostalgic. I used to spend many a happy hour pouring over PC Gamer and trying every demo disc!

EA Sports are brilliant at testing their games before release to make sure there are no bugs. They're better in comparison to other companies because their games are carbon copies of the previous years version. However, that doesn't mean they're brilliant at testing. Every year games like Madden are riddled with basic bugs from Day 1. This years edition has been tested so brilliantly that every player on the Miami Dolphins has the letter 'I' missing from the back of their jersey.

EA are shocking for the amount of bugs in newly released games, this years F1 game was terrible and only a little bit of testing could have found out a load of errors. The Madden errors don’t surprise me one bit!

Aside from the payroll/brown envelopes, reviews have become heavily politicised to the point where I’ve completely lost trust for mainstream review sites. Audience scores are all I’ll pay attention to now.

Hyper-realistic games targeted specifically at adults are vastly inferior to cartoony family-friendly Nintendo style games.

General cycle now seems to be release substandard game, patch it, break something else with the patch, patch again and repeat for 4 or 5 years
