He fannied out of so many challenges yesterday. He didn’t do anything attack wise. He was bloody awful. A typical Laurent display. Complete and utter nonsense as usual . He put his foot in countless times . There was I thinking you had turned over a new leaf in your praise for one of your agenda players - Wilmot ( head and shoulders the best player so far this season- though McNally was different class yesterday ) Laurent had a good game - not an 8 but certainly a 7

Too many mistakes and poor passing. No mistake yesterday though bar the penalty incident which he was very lucky with. Laurent was awful.

You don't half chat some shit. That tackle he did was stupid at best. It looked a penalty in real time and I’ve seen the replay and I can’t make out if there’s a touch or not but I’d be screaming for a penalty for it for us. He got very lucky.

Three league games played. Two wins. Drop the captain. You couldn’t make it up. That’s the most illogical thing I’ve heard all day. Why? He’s been crap. Seems not cut out for it He was crap against Ipswich. Along with all of them. He was decent against Rotherham and Watford making a good contribution to 6 hard earned points. I’m struggling to see where the hate is coming from?

He wasn’t bloody awful. He was solid and unspectacular. He did nothing. He shirked responsibility like he’s done in most games he’s played for us. Complete hysterical nonsense. As per usual.

During the purple patch last season I thought he was one of our better players and a real driving force in the middle of the pitch. He’s been nowhere near that standard so far this season and was distinctly average on Saturday.

I didn’t see the game for obvious reasons, but just wanted to make the point that my Sheff Utd supporting mate has made exactly that same criticism of Sande Berger who is now at Burnley. I’ve absolutely no reason to doubt Bayern, but I always thought Berger was a standout player for the Blades. Seems I can’t have been more wrong!

Neil definitely strikes me as the clueless type who, having spent months observing, interacting with, and coaching Laurent would sabotage himself by not only playing him but making him captain.

He wants taking out of the team and replacing with Wilmot. Rose and McNally at the back will be solid enough.

There was not a peep out of Bayern when Laurent was the driving force behind the purple patch last season. Everyone has their off-days and hopefully Laurent will buck his ideas up soon and shut Bayern up once more. Though doing that is tougher than persuading Trump he should quit politics.

Purple,’Patch’ says it all really. Patchy says it all about Lauren. No way a leader or captain and at present should not be in the team. Bad choice. Playing like he has an option of transfer and wants to go- head no where near at present.

Except that's his level, a league one, lower championship player who occasionally has a good game! Not good enough for a team seriously chasing promotion.

This, he tracks his man well too and gets about the pitch. I’d be keen to see his stats as I think he covers more ground than the other midfielders. Don’t think he’s got the ability to be a top 6 central midfielder / box to box player, and I agree with Clive Clarke, he’d made a cracking defensive mid, if he can be coached to play that role. Definitely a player in there. This season is a huge one for him I think. Guess Neil thinks the same and maybe hopes the captaincy makes him step up a level. Yeah I think the captaincy thing might have partly been around getting Laurent to step up. He can look a bit languid and disinterested at times, which can be a bit misleading I think because he does work hard. Hopefully being the leader out there will change his body language

Extremely odd selection for Captain. His performances certainly don't merit it.Can only think that he appears to have a big personality and is popular with the other players.Maybe it was given as a spur to get a tune out of him? Certainly hasn't worked thus far.

Certainly hasn't worked thus far. I agree, his performances do not warrant it at all. There is no doubt he is a good player but only when he feels like it. Unfortunately, as a captain it has to be 100% effort all of the time. He has a can’t he bothered streak to him for sure. I rarely see him encourage or motivate his team mates. I rarely see him berate his team mates and I rarely see him giving instructions ( the occasional finger point when defending set pieces). All this adds up.

Three games in and he's tweeting apologies for being that bad. If he's the best we can muster as club captain we're in for a long winter. He had a bad game, he owned it, and apologized, that shows character. You'd of slated him if he said nothing. Look forward to tonight's apology... Exactly the reason he shouldn't have apologised after one game, he's been useless for 90% of his Stoke career so where does he go from here?

Remember when he signed last year, people going totally over the top about how good our midfield had suddenly become.
He's a poor footballer.

If there's any actual interest we shouldn't be standing in his way, he's looks completely lost in every game so far, hasn't even tried to get stuck in at least.
But did put the best ball of the match in tbf 😂

We have abit of a problem really, as the captain should be nowhere near the starting 11 currently.
