2 goals and an assist! Captain’s performance tonight and good on him! Against inferior opposition willing to roll over and have their bellies tickled. Goes missing when it matters more than is acceptable against anyone willing to put up a flight. The likes of him, Tymon, Bonham and Thompson need fucking off if we're to move to the next level.

Might be reading in to it too much but did anyone else think his body language was worrying? Didn't celebrate either goal and then went pretty mich straight down the tunnel at full time.

Thanks for putting in a bare minimum, pedestrian, nondescript midfield performance Jordan. It's much better than the utter fucking wank we've been shovelling down our gullets for the past 5 years. After all the criticism he’s got maybe he just opted for a subdued celebration rather than an ill advised shush gesture. Hard to blame him for being subdued when you see some of the post match comments here despite two excellent goals and an assist. Sadly for Josh he’s Stoke Scapegoat Number 1 and the critics need their pound of flesh.

If he can do it consistently he’ll deserve praise. Passenger far too often and the odd bright spark doesn’t negate the worrying performance levels he usually puts in.
Did well tonight.

He had a big grin on his face after the first and pointed to what I’d imagine was his family in the stands for the second. I think people read too much into celebrations.

I just think we need better in that position, nothing against him and he'll get fixed up you'd think as a decent player . Been ok for us but if we're splashing out then is somewhere we need to strengthen for me in this window.

Maybe playing in a midfield with some of the shite we’ve fielded in recent times has impacted his performances? Put him alongside Burger and Pearson and maybe his performances improve? Certainly appears that way tonight.

I feel the future captain with be DJ? Last night as we walked passed where the players greet the fans before going inside the ground. Johnson made the effort of coming the other side of the Barrier and fully interacting with the supporters.
Laurent needs to step it up because he has serious competition with Burger, Johnson, Pearson (in the midfield position).

Captain = 100% effort all of the time, motivating his players all of the time, giving verbal instructions all of the time.

Sadly for Josh he’s Stoke Scapegoat Number 1 and the critics need their pound of flesh. First and foremost, 'all the criticism he's getting on here' I would hope a professional footballer wouldn't venture onto messageboards to see what a very small, overly opinionated section of fans think of him...and if he did, I would hope he would ignore them and acknowledge fans are, at times, overly critical and emotional. Secondly, last night he put on a great performance (MOTM IMO)… all you have to do now is celebrate the goals with your supporters and opinions change very quickly. Not saying jump into the crowd and go crazy, but a fist pump to the Boothen would be nice. Not (goal one) fingers in the ears celebration with Tyrese, (goal two) turns back immediately on the crowd and celebrate to a friend or family member in the upper tier. And before anyone says, he can celebrate how he wants, why do you care....of course he can but it won't help anything - he controls the narrative. Get involved with the fans, show some passion, get the fans chanting your name...or don't, and be regarded as the new Clucas.

I don’t understand the praise he gets for not arsing up effectively by putting in an ok performance. Completely agree we need better.

Went missing at Ipswich, went missing at Millwall.
In his element, in a carabao cup rout of Rotherham.
That's not a captain

He’s got the potential to be good enough as we have all seen on a number of occasions. The season is long, and full of terrors. We’ll need him if we want to compete for a playoff spot. Go on Josh lad

I did notice the lacklustre celebration but he probably doesn’t want to go over the top with it. He’s got some stick (a lot of it fair in my opinion) for recent performances & he even acknowledged that he’d not been at his best. The important thing now is that he kicks on and gets up to his top level, consistently.

Pulling out of 50/50s and looking weak and disinterested isn't anything to do with anyone else though is it, he's been pretty poor this season, he either needs to sort himself out or get comfy on the bench.

Are people only allowed to perceive things as you do.
