He's simply pointing out that Greaves is the actual record holder. Shearer's Premier League 'record' is meaningless. He and many others are referencing two separate records. Jimmy Greaves is the all time record goal scorer in England's top division. Harry Kane is the all time record goal scorer for the Premier League. Two separate records. Whether you, me, or anyone else thinks it's meaningless is irrelevant, because to millions of football fans, it isn't meaningless and it is a thing. There is a massive chunk of the footballing fanbase that only know the Premier League as our top division, so the record means something to many.

into double figures goals in the bundesliga, already The GK made that a very easy choice for Harry Kane. He looked like he was 10yds outside of his box. I understand that GK's often now operate as another outfield player but he was very high up the pitch really. Asking for trouble.

As soon as I posted the previous post I regretted that I didn't mention something positive about Kane's vision and execution.

Commentators likening the strike to Romney’s & Beckham’s. They should really be also referring to Charlie Adam’s at Chelsea, it was quite a bit further out too ie harder technically to achieve - especially with a 6’ 4” keeper.

Charlie's was definitely better than Beckham's but depends which one for Rooney really, he's scored from halfway for Everton, Man utd and DC United www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/12839971/otd-wayne-rooneys-halfway-line-wonder-goal-in-front-of-david-beckhamI'd say Rooney's for Man utd. was better than Charlie's, simply as the technique to keep a moving, bouncing ball controlled is far harder than when it's on the floor at your feet. The height of the keeper isn't really something to call out for Charlie's goal anyway. Most keepers are pretty tall i.e. Neil Sullivan for Beckham's halfway goal is 6'3, Adrian for Rooney's for Man utd. is 6'3, Joe Hart for Rooney's for Everton is 6'5 etc.
