How did he get on? Was our Nige spotted anywhere?
I listens to the first 23 minutes as I had to work and thought he did ok…

Did ok, few name mixups. Seemed very excited about doing the job.

I thought it was a bit strange at the end of his interview when he said thanks Neil not thanks Alex. Did anyone else spot that?

Comes across very enthusiastic, few errors but overall listenable, Cranson not good at all.

Thought Ian Cranson was an interesting match summariser.. Quite insightful & a new voice from our successful past but not sure if he's meant for this kind of work.

AN probably gets that a lot having a double barrelled first name, we have a bloke at work called David Patrick or is it Patrick David? Hand on heart I honestly couldn't tell you which it is and I've worked with him for 10 years!

Thought he did ok to be fair. He seemed really happy and excited for the season. Thought Cranny couldn't get his words out for most of the afternoon mind, not as good on radio as he was on the pitch.

Remember when a radio reporter called David Moyes 'Moyesy' during an interview once. David wasn't very impressed! 🤣

I felt he interrupted too much in his after match interviews. Poor questions.

I enjoyed it today and thought Sohail Sahi did a good job. Clearly he'll find his feet with the fans, players and little nuances of the club as he goes along.
I've never been overly precious about the commentary. It's local radio, subjective and everyone will have their favourites, preferred guests, those who drive them up the wall etc.

Did well I thought. Cranson definitely not a voice for radio.

He had massive shoes to fill but he did fine for his first time. He seemed genuinely excited when we scored and fingers crossed he'll be ok. Cranny didn't grate on me. He didn't interfere too much and let the new lad get on with it. 8/10 from me for RS.
OS.

I thought the commentator was absolutely abysmal and Cranson was just as bad. He’d better get to grips with it pronto

Just as I wouldn't judge Stoke on the first game of the season, win orlose, I'm not going to judge him on his first attempt.

I think his nerves were clearly on show but let's give him time to settle in and gain his confidence. Perhaps putting him with one of the more regular co commentators would have helped him settle in better. Not bad for a first official run out.

Only heard the last few minutes and he seemed ok, obviously no Nige was weird but he did fine with what I heard

I listen to the commentary whilst sat at the game so not a big issue for me but if I was relying on the radio alone my biggest criticism would be to much chit chat and not enough describing what was actually going on

I thought he did ok. He sounded very enthusiastic and you got the feeling he wanted to do really, really well! I think he was keen to incorporate his research and to show that he had done some homework, perhaps needs to relax into it a bit more. Let's see how he goes.
I thought Cranson sounded like he had just got out of bed from a night on the piss and someone had dragged him to the ground.
